Just curious as to what most of you with 2.2OHV Automatics are running on the quarter.

Please list major mods.

ID CAI
Upper and Lower Engine Mounts
Autotrans Interceptor

I just ran a 17.377 @76.843mph last night.

Actually I spent about 600$ Canadian and my car ran a consistent 17.6 when it was stock. Of course...my tires are bald right now..If I had slightly better rubber my 60' wouldn't suck so much. I'll rarely break-out of a 2.4 second 60'. Don't forget that this is on an auto...a 2.2 manual can be about a second faster than that (a friend in a 2.2 Manual hit 16.5 that same day with a CAI and catback exhaust).

Here's a 17.55 Second pass I did against my GF. It was her first time down the quarter mile, that's why she only hit a 17 second run.

Ok guys..we get it...we all know...stock 2.2's are slow. That is not the purpose of this thread however. So please refrain from commenting on how slow our cars are..there's enough of that everywhere else on this board.

This thread is to find out what folks with the specific 2200 (and 2.2) OHV and Automatic Tranny combination are running on the 1/4 mile.

Why have 2 people so far considered an engine mount an a major mod? An engine mount wouldn't add power... what would it do?

just keeps the engine from losing power

If you had aftermarket engine mounts you'd realize how much they restore lost performance, mainly torque.

There aren't as useful on an automatic at the track however since we usually hold the engine under a load at the starting line.

97 2.2 3 spd......18.2@75 mph....short ram intake, lower mount......but Cannon was still slower......just playin buddy (if you see this....if not, then )

That is correct. Put one one your car and you will see. the car shakes more at an idle since the power has to go somewhere. The mount eliminates engine roll which puts more torque where it is supposed to be. i wouldnt be able to take my engine mount out and still drive it. i consider it a major modification.
