i have a ways to go i have maybe 6K , but then again that is after a swap when my motor died at 110K
73,638. Ive put around 35mi on the car since I bought it Monday!
1997 Cavy LS vert.
spork, what engine did you have and why did it suffer a heart attack as i like to call it lol so early on.
190,000 miles on my 94 VL, just hit 55,000 on my 01 today. on my 94 i beat the piss out of that car.smashing it into garbage cans, burnouts you name it. changed the oil every 15,000 - 20,000 miles all ive put in it was a head gasket when i first bought it and a timing chain. that car is the only reason i bought another cavalier, only i dont beat the piss out of my 01.
104k
95 cavi 2.2 auto
blew up last friday
134,517 on the 97 cavalier 2.2 auto. i put about 30 miles on it since i bought it last friday as the daily beater
1998 Cavalier 2200 Auto: 98K (purchased at 50K, used to be a rental car, on full synthetic since 70K)
-O2 sensor
-Valve cover gasket
-Alternator
2002 Cavalier 2200 5spd: 106K (purchased at 88K off ebay from a Ford dealership, on full synthetic since 90K)
-Water pump
-Flex pipe
Half the reason I don't sell these cars is because I want to see how long they're going to last. They also serve as a reminder on four wheels to people who say GM's break down. My buddy hasn't bad mouthed my Cavs since his Sentra SE-R spun a bearing at 50K.
My 98 served me well during my high school and broke college years where a breakdown meant big financial problems. Yeah, it was slow, but you start to love a car that keeps money in your pocket. During those summers, I used it as a delivery car for two pizza joints. Now I'm delivering with the 2002 until I find a better job. I put about 80 miles and about 5 engine hours on that car every day. At this rate, I'm putting on 32Kmi / year on it, but I hope to find another job before that happens. I'll be holding on to it until it explodes though. For having bought it for only $3300, I'm getting my money's worth and then some.
2002 Cavalier 2200 5spd
i put 205,000+ on mine...still original engine and tranny but its coming out soon cause of knocking and an oil leak.
98 sunfire SE: bought it at 113k two years ago, now at 130k
synthetic since about 121k (i will never put anything but syn. in it again)

2004 Sunfire. 15,000 miles.
1999 Cavalier-105000 miles
95 2.2 w/ 3 speed auto.
250,000.
Tranny went out on Tuesday.
My 97 Sunfire has 123,001 as of today, I've replaced my water pump, plugs, plug wires and thermostat. I think I'm leaking coolant somewhere but it's not enough to leave a puddle.
117k on mine, i have owned it scince 97k, she sees the rev limiter everyday and the only major problem was my ignition control module crappin out on me.
tough little motors if you ask me
hit 101k 2 days ago. No problems under the hood, fuel pump died on me 2 years ago, my sister was nice enough to pay for it. Odd thing was, her car and mine are both 2k Cavs, 2200 engine, 5spd, and her fuel pump died THE SAME DAY!, so Pep-Boys replaced fuel pumps on 2 2k Cavs one after the other. How WEIRD is that?
92,000kms (57000 miles) I think is on my 2000 Sunfire 4DR SE... 2.2L, Auto.
2001 Cavy 2.2 w/ 4 speed auto. The car has 220k on it, i bought it last january with about 180k. I used the car for sales for a while i needed an oil change every 3 weeks during that period. lol. But still has the original motor and tranny, which will change when i get the money together to put an eco with a 5 speed in it. I think all i've changed in the engine bay since i got the car was an alternator and a battery.
i have a 96 until last a couple days ago i hadd 220k and it ran fine. i'm almost done with my swap the newer motor has 70 k the cars going to fall apart befor my engine dies.
4 door civic on the way
i need a daily driver
A little over 260,000km... Only thing that's been changed on it is a fuel pump. Oh, and I got a new battery awhile ago. Pretty good for a 96, I'd say.
have 270,000km replaced lots, mostly front wheel bearings 3-4 times, brakes twice, starter, battery, some wiring issues,(right now as well, battery and alternator are good, but alt won't charge the battery), water pump, I'm sure there's a couple of things I'm forgetting
in case anyone still reads this.... i got a 99 5 speed with 180k still on the original clutch!....all i have done is a TP sensor and a water pump
I got a 2001 Automatic 128,000 miles
I've replaced the back wheel barrings(sp?)
And the front tires are about to go as well.

1998 LS 2.2 5 speed. 206,000+ and still going. No history prior to 99,000 miles. Since then; 2 sets of plugs, a set of plug wires and a water pump. I think the clutch is still the original. Hoping for 250,000!! We are the 2nd owners. Original owner drove the car from Wichita to somewhere in Wisconsin several times a year. I drive 300+ a week to work and drive to the Chicago area, from Wichita, a couple of times a year. I think at least 85% of the miles are highway miles. No funny noises and doesn't use any oil. Still gets 35+ on the highway.
Quarter Million Club
Well so far, my engine has 137000 on it, I had to do the timing chain, gears and tensioner. And thats it, as far as the tranny goes, make sure that when they change the fluid that they use the GM synchromesh fluid, dont let the bastards put in anything else. I had one guy put 75/90 in my tranny and now its toast, spider gears and synchros are NFG! And he wont pay for it. So be CAREFUL!!!!
