Now that I'm at 187,000 Miles, I'm not sure if I have a blown head gasket
I made a post on Maintenance. I'm just going to keep my fingers and toes crossed
because it only overheats in traffic, I have no leaks, white smoke, oil in coolant or coolant with Oil. I'm trying my best to find the problem.

There is no cure for my engine problem they said.

There is carbon dioxide in the cooling system. in other words, there is a leak.
Cracked head, or head gasket.
Replacing both won't fix the problem because normaly they junk the motor and replace it with one with lower miles.
American Engine Installations do not work on 2.4s, they replace them.
I asked them to fix mine and they won't because they said that its normal for quad4s to do the same over and over.
I need to replace the engine or buy a new car to drive.

ohh and they gave me a quote
2,385.00 Plus Tax to replace the 2.4 with a 49,000 mile engine.

one more comment

I think I waited too late to fix the problem so here is my advice, I do not blame the car.

1. Do all maintenance ON TIME

2. Change the Oil on time.

3. Check all fluids and always check the oil.

4. DO NOT WAIT TOO LATE TO FIX THINGS.

5. Take your car to a place where they know what they are doing!!!
(This was my No. 1 mistake, take the car to the dealer, or someone you know
for sure they will fix the car permanently. Not a quick fix or temporary fix.
Take the car to a place where is going to get fixed!!

6. Do not add Stop Leak products to fix whatever, and expect the car to be okay.
Find the problem and get it fixed.

7. If its not broke, don't fix it.

I need a new cylinder head.

What am I going to do? hahaha! LOL!
That's the question of the day.
To be honest, I don't know.

This is why I “Waited” too long.
The car was leaking coolant, and somebody told me that coolant was
Coming out from the head gasket @ 150,000 miles
I took it to the shop where I work on my car to check and they
we added liquid glass.
Liquid Glass seals Head-blocks, water-pumps, radiators, head-gaskets, stops leaks)
The leak was gone! Wow for 2 days, but then the radiator was
clogged up as well.
I replaced the radiator, and the water-pump, thermostat, temperature sensor
And the car was still over-heating. They said it was not the head-gasket because its not
Smoking white smoke, no bobbles or milky oil bla!bla!bla! Good compression ect…
I took the thermostat out, and I drove it cold during the summer time but I was still
Losing coolant not much, but it was coming out.
Winter came, and it started to get cold 20F and I had to put the thermostat back on to get some heat. It did okay for a week or two, but then the car overheated in traffic with in seconds!
Highway ran okay, but after I stopped at a red light or something the car overheated really quick.

Maybe I drove the car with a blown head-gasket for about a year or more+
That’s why I waited too long.

I bought me another car last Sunday until I get Robby back on the road.
I need a Motor or
Replace the cylinder-head and head-gasket but people tell me that
If I replace the head and the head-gasket its going to happen again so I need to sell it lol
I don’t want to sell the car, I want to drive it two more years and then trade it for a
Truck!!!! But "IF" its not going to run the same, then I don’t want to fix it.
I need to take it to a place where then can fix it really really good, and it won’t over-heat
In traffic ever again and still push 150hp under the hood. That would be nice!
then, I think...
Maybe I bought the car with the blown-head gasket. It had a little over 60,000 miles when I bought.
After 20,000 miles later it was running 200-210F on the high way but it never over heated.
The dealer said that as long as it didn’t over-heat to the red and the fan came on, it was okay.

I doubt you would want to or could ever trade it in for a truck a dealership wouldnt even give you what the rims and tires are worth off it. As for the 210 on the freeway that is pretty hot. it should be no higher then 195.. mine runs even lower on the highway i do the same things on waiting tho who knows im at like 171000 runs great just did a brake job today and transmission mount

if you have a 180F thermostat the temperature should stay at 180F.

When I took the thermostat out, it was running about 150F on the highway or lower.
and when it was cold outside 30F or lower, the temperature was never higher than 100F

I installed a 180F thermostat, it did good for about 2 weeks but then it started to get worst in traffic. as long as I was going faster than 70MPH, the temperature was 180F

I had the 200F - 210F temperature problem at about 85,000 miles but I never did anything about it and some people said it was normal or they couldn't figure it out
I said screw it, I just drive it like that then.

If you ever see a problem, or you think there's a problem with your car.
Take the car to a place where they will find the problem and get it fixed and never ever ever ever! go back again for the same problem
If they say they fixed your car, but later you find yourself going back agian for the same problem?!?!? NO NO NO NO NO that shop garage or whatever it is do not know what they're doing and they need to stop ripping people off and they should pay your money back in cash$$$
