On my 99 2.4 LD9? Im only asking because the engine is tore about right now and my wiring harness that I bought for the swap only has 1 sensor for the cat im guessing so thats why im asking.. My 2.2 right now has 2, 1 for the header and 1 for the cat. But ive heard the 99 2.4's only have 1 sensor.
Can somone shed some light on this for me, Im trying to get everything I need seeing my motor came out of a junkyard with missing pieces..

depending on what year the harness is out of, it could either be a 1 wire (Purple) with a round black plug........ or a 2 wire (Gray, Tan (I think)) connector...... in either case, they are both right by the IDI plug.

Alright guys, I managed to get a picture of what im talking about.. What I have circled, is that the sensor for the exhaust manifold? If so looks like it was cut when removed from the car by the junkyard.. If thats it, how do I replace it since its attached to the harness?

Hey Eric
that circled piece is the vacuum line from the throttle body to the dash (HVAC controls). It should connect to another vacuum line that comes from the dash harness, near the big plug by the holes in the firewall.

but the rest of the answer is still the same.
99 should have one wire to the first O2 sensor, and two or four (can't remember, but they're all in a 4-pin plug) to the second O2 sensor.
00 has two wires to the first sensor.
96 was the only year when there was a missing O2 sensor.. and there's a blank plug in the second O2 connector spot.
lol ok, now im confused about the vacume part lol, and im still stuck trying to find out where my manifold O2 is grrr.. Anybody have a diagram of a LABLED 99z Wiring harness?lol (I know its a long shot)

David, I don't know if it will help you out or not, but New York J-bodies has a wiring list with color and pin out for the LD9 for your car. Here is the link.

you still got some searchin to do now lol.....i dunno man......
a 99 motor with no egr, isnt that the same as a 01 motor? cause if it is then something got messed up with that harness or you got the wrong one lol....cause when we looked at mine, i had an orange and purple wire b4 the connector, and a black and white after the connector, but on the harness you have, there is one purple wire b4 the connector and one black wire after the connector lol......i dunno man.....hope you figure it out......

but remember Mat, you have an 01+ motor. Thats way different than my 99 harness. Im sure if i got to the parts store and ask for a 00+ sensor with the wire then ask for a 99 sensor plus the wire they will be different. Im just waiting on that dude to to email me back.

My 98 2.4 has 2, one is a purple wired (Manifold), and the other is heated (4 wire) both can be found near the IDI cover, where the ignition plug is.
