Z24 sedan thats what i got. big difrence was before 2002 their was no 4 door z which means no 5spd juat a 4spd auto.My z looks just like the blue one above with stock rims and tint.

I had an 01 cav sedan with the 2.4, I was a bit suprised about the 2.4 when I bought it. If you ask me thats the one to get. The ricers have no idea, they think its a 2.2............
Oh yeah, It was made in lordstown, ohio If I remember right.

The sedan an option for the 2.4 in 00-01. There was 2 in the garage when I bought my 4 door Z.

yes i know it was an option but you could not get a 4 door 2.4 with a 5 spd till the 2002 with the z24 package

on Edmund's it says 2002 was the only year you could get a 2.4 4door 5 spd before 2002 they were 2.2 with 5spd or auto's or a 2.4 with a 4 spd auto. Damn my head hurts. pre 02 2.4 sedans were only auto.the z24 package allowed a 5spd as a option. all earleir 3rd gen 4 door models were 2.4 auto/ 2.2 auto or slandard/ 2200 auto or standard. i could be wrong but thats what the information i gathered came up with also that the American z24 was discontinued 3 months into 02. so the 4 door z24 only survived 3 months of production. i also do think that for the entire cavalier production life it was the shortest lived. correct me if i am wrong just make sure you can back it up we don't need false facts and if I'm wrong i want to know what the actual numbers are not a guess. 97cavie24ls this is agreeing with your statment

i have a 98 4 door with a 2.4 auto

my mom has a 2000 cavalier ls sedan with a 2.4. not uncommon. an ex girlfriend of mine had a 1997 sunfire sedan with the 2.4 it in also. so they are out there!

mines a 96 4 door sedan with the 4speed auto. nobody around me thinks such a beast exist. i have too much fun!

the only thing i need is a 2.4 and im all set for my 98 z24 sedan

My 2000 Cavalier has the 2.4L in it too.

yup but 2002 you could the 2.4 mated to a 5spd if you chose. And it is becuase of you and iknow so much so thanks

You could get a 5 speed hooked to a 2.4L in any 96-02 sedan... 2002 was only special because you could get a Z24 sedan.

None of the sites for car values have a sedan 2.4 with a standerd? or did you guys in canada get lucky on that one too? I'm confused

They were not exactly "commonplace" but they are around. I pulled the BCM from a 2000 Cavalier LS sedan, with a 2.4L, Getrag 5 speed, A/C and power eveything... 209,xxx km's on it tho... I was looking for something with mileage closer to mine

(My cluster has the TC Off light stuck on... since it's an automatic BCM on a now-5-speed car...)
