Ok I seaching on clubcav and the org and need help on this problem. 2 days ago I dropped of my sister, the speedometer was working great. After leave from my aunts house I started up the car and started driving. As soon as I start moving I notice the speedometer isnt moving. So my question is what are my options to fix this problem and what should I look for.

Much thanks, Deshaun

Im guessing the speed sensor on the tranny. Does your shift light work.

The speedometer is controlled by the engine computer which gets its signal from a speed sensor on the transmission. If you take it to a local mechanic with scanner capabilities he should be able to tell you whats wrong. On the other hand you can go to the parts store and buy a vehicle speed sensor and change it yourself. It shouldnt cost a whole lot.

Just as a quick test for a loose connector, whack the dash above the cluster good with your hand. That usually will jar a loose connector enough to show a reading temporarily.

New sig in the works.
