99 cavalier Rally Sport with about 94,00 on the motor and trans. No major problems as of yet since ive owned it other than having to replace the original altenator because it the stereo system that was installed rejected it. 150 dollars there. The only other problem is that its leaking oil. Problem. needs a new oil pan gasket. Ive got the part on hand to do it but am having problems getting the pan off. Not a big deal. The only other concern that i have is that I have a very slight ticking sound coming from the engine. Not sure what it is but it sounds like its coming from the cylinder furthest on the drivers side. It seems to fast to be a rod(ive heard a few cars with rods that are wanting to get out) some im thinking its the valvetrain. Other than what ive listed there hasnt been a major problem(im a mechanic in the army....i see lots worse everyday). <br>

My '94 Sunbird has damn near 218,000 miles on the engine and the transmission was just rebuilt. My mom's '98 Sunfire has 115,000+ miles on the engine and transmission. My car is an '02 Ecotec with about 26,000 miles. <br>

my 2002 automatic OHV engine has 40055 miles on it. i drive my cars on average like 50-80 miles a day, in the luxurious snow belt. Doesn't help when school is 25 miles away. However, i'm kind and gentle to the cars, and don't push them over 4000 RPM's, and get tune ups and oil changes on schedual.

Off topic: My dad's 1992 buick lasabre has 269,000 on it, and the only problem on the car was that 2 clyinders needed to be repaired 2 weeks ago.

my 98 cavy 2200 5-spd just rolled over to 100k, and still running strong, had to replace a pully, and sofar thats it, its been good to me

my dad's 87 daytona pacifica turbo has 210k kms on it, and no major probs, and he still boosts the @!#$ outta that thing and my grandpa has a 91 S-10 4.3L V6 with 260k kms on it, and no major probs yet, its all in the maintenance <br>

97 3 Spd auto, 78000 Miles, just swapped to a z24 cluster so 22100 miles, ac clutch is stuck on, upper motor mount is shot, lug stuck on one wheel, another missing one lug, and engine ticks bc of a faulty header gasket (got a new one just need time)....ha. <br>

2001, 2200 SFI. 81,000kms...still purrs like the day I bought it (actually it runs better than the day I bought it, lol). Aside from being underpowered...I never really hear any complaints about the 2200. The general concensus is that this is probably the most reliable J-Body engine ever produced.

I have a 1999 2.2L (2DR) and my engine had 129,800 miles on it before the head gasket was @!#$.But, I drove that f**ker hard. You need to also check your Tranny. My Trans screwed up, then my engine.... For your best interest look at your tranny. I've spent a total of $1,400+ in the engine('00 2.2L $650) and Rebuilt Tranny($996).

i got 66,700 miles, 60,000 when i bought it august 7th <br>

I have 50,000 on my 2000, my g/f has 52,000 on her 01 2.2

I got 170,000km on my 96 auto......I have had to replace two head gaskets and im thinking soon to be a third and also had to put a new transmission in the car....other then that just the regular maintence.....still runs strong as ever.

1984 Buick Skyhawk (2.0 pushrod engine). Had over 150,000 miles when traded. No problems.
1993 Cavalier (2200 engine). Head gasket @ about 120,000 miles, intake manifold gasket covered under recall.
2002 Cavalier (2200 engine) No problems @ 16,000 miles. <br>

'97 2200 ohv 5sp, bought with about 74,xxx maybe? cant remember. got about 94,xxx on it now and i have had it for about a year now. i live on the interstate now, I-70 in columbus,OH and i occasionally take a roughly 300 mile trip on every-other weekend to visit my family in lawrenceburg,IN i have replaced the sparks, i think it needs a new a/c, and i also think the cat. is going out. other than that it still drives like a dream(well at least in the condition i bought it in) <br>

First make sure that you actually have all the oil pan bolts off. I know i've made this mistake before. Then once they're all off... get a rubber mallet and tap at it. Once they've gotten themselves on there... chances are that they dont come off very easily. It may be some hardcore work to get it off.

87 2.0 3spd. 176,xxx. I trailor a small john boat, and and soemtimes 2 dirtbikes hehe. Replaced water pump and head gasket.

Other than that, the car still runs strong. I beat the @!#$ out of it almost everyday.

96 sunfire manual with 159K and counting. Replaced a brake line and egr valve otherwise normal maintenance. Sounds and runs like brand new.
