I've got a extra 2.4 fuel rail and IDI cover in my grasp.. I was wanting to grind off all the little sails/ridges(keeping Quad4 writing on cover), and get them powder coated(maybe carbon fiber wrapped).

I have 2 questions
1) is the fuel rail thick enough to remove these?
2) will this cause a heat problem on ether the fuel rail or idi cover?
