might be buying a 01 with a 3400

hey I'm possibly going to be buying an 01 z24 with the 3400 swap already done. just wondering what to check to make sure the swap was done right. looking at the pics of under the hood of the car it looks like a clean job but I haven't seen it in person yet.

Is there a right way to swap a 3400 yet?

If it's an 00+ with manual trans, then yes, there is a right way.

hopefully going to be getting it tomorrow. it looks really good, guess the car has 109k kms and the motor had 150k. it's out of a 2002 grand am. standard and they replaced the clutch when he did the swap. the thing looks mint. and from the pics it looks like the car came stock with the motor, really clean job. I'll post some pics if I get it, hopefully the guy comes to buy my old car today so I can go pic this one up

Yeah, I know. I'm still working on that. I do have a possible solution, but I haven't put any time into it lately. I've been very busy.

I have an '01 with a 3400 in it now! MegaSquirt and all... To be honest, with the work that went into the car - I'd make a mechanic who knows something about it look at it before I bought it. My husband is a mechanic, which is awesome, but for the amount of time and effort put into that - I wouldn't trust just anyone doing it...

i dont know why people dont run them on OBD1 with a custom cal, to easy. Even came out of the box turbo.

Do one up, let us know how it works out. I'm sure you'll understand then.

cause if your 00+ with a 5spd the wiring is a breeze and you have all idiot lights and dash functions and you can tune HPT which gives you more room then just an OBD1 chip

thats why we do it this way cause its easier

work smarter not harder
