Odometer inop

A couple days ago my odometer reading went very dim. You can still see it during the day if you look really hard, but you can't read it at night. Has anybody else had this problem and so do you know a fix?

Whats the huge pic for?

Anyway, there is only one way to fix it, its to take the cluster apart and replace the little LED's that are behind the display. I would recommend trying to find a new cluster though, its incredibly easy to destroy the cluster if you don't know what you are doing, just taking the needles off could render it a paperwieght.

Sorry about the pic. it wasn't supossed to come out like that.

Yeah, I tried to take the cluster apart yesterday, but the needles were holding it on. I had heard before that somebody took the needles off and destroyed the cluster.

You guys are awesome. Will I see any of you at NOPI at Gateway International here in STL in July?

Bash is in July, so thats where most of my spending money is going. If I have extra or extra time I'd think about hitting NOPI in STL but at this point I can't see that being the case.

Dont try pulling the needles off......you WILL break it.....Basically the cluster needs to be replaced.....Mine has done the same thing....Its a throw away item and GM knows that this is a common problem

NO! smack the top of the dash a few times, and it should come on

its a common problem, with a common solution.

I guess i'll try smaking the dash first (since it is the cheapest way) and if it don't work then i'll go get a new one. Thanks for your help!

I just back hand the top of the dash and then works fine for a couple weeks.
