i have a 99 w/2.2l swapping to 97 2.4l. do i have to change the spedometer cluster? (dirt track stock car)

the 99 clster is digital. the 97 is mechanical. the odo will not work.

wrong the odo will work i swapped from digital to non 99 to 98

reading this again, you dont need to swap clusters unless something's wrong with the one you have.

will a 99 sunfire cluster work with a 99 cavalier as long as they are both 2.4 and have a tach??? thanks anyone for any help.
