Drove home this weekend from school to VA. Its 283 miles one way. My teacher told me that the car would get really good gas milage because that motor is used to pulling around a big car. OMG did it get good milage. I used a half a tank of gas on the way down. Car ran great no hick ups or anything. Temp stayed between 160 and 190 the whole time. I took my dad for a ride in it and he was like HOLY $HIT thats a big difference haha.

Yeah nate it seems that the 3400 swap gets better mileage for me too. I didnt spend the time to figure out the details but , on a 200 mile trip it seemed to use 1/8 tank less than my wife's 98 with the 2200. When I get bored someday ill figure it up.
Good to hear the trip went good. Ill bet you were on the edge of your seat all the way, crossing your fingers and toes that you make it .
I know Im like that , but i tend to worry too much, especially on a maiden voyage like that.

My teacher was telling me that its because you can pull hills in 5th gear with that motor so you stay in the low part of the VE table. So the computer doesnt add hardly any fuel.
