v6 swap

I have been reading about all of you guys doing the v6 swap and some thing came to me . You guys say that it is better to use a stage II clutch could a gen II v6 clutch work to hold the power as well or no? I have been thinking long and hard about the v6 swap talked to a buddy of mine about it and he says we should do it i am just wondering how long it will take and what is the hardest part of the swap.

Since the V6 has near double the HP and Tq that the 2.2 has, the OEM clutch won't hold it for long... A SPEC stage 2 for the 2.2 will work just fine (at least mine has so far)

Hardest part: wiring
How long: Varies

no, running a stock flywheel, lightened a little. I've heard bad things about the aluminum flywheels so didn't want to risk it

I don't believe the V6 clutch will work on the Isuzu transmission. I could be wrong on that though. But even still you'll want a better clutch, since the 3400 (if you go with that) has 40 more hp and 25 more ft/lbs than the 3.1 in most cases.

also you will have the tranny out anyways, might as well put a stage 2 in, i got a fidanza light weight aluminum flywheel but only have driven it about 1500km around 500kms hard so far so good lol feels great though

what ever trans you use, use a clutch for that trans

like i have an 00-02 2200 getrag i got a clutch for that

wiring is the hardest part and is the key component to the swap

PS switch your cars interior wiring to a 2000+ then run the 2000 Gauges. 97 gauges wont work but a 2000+ 3400 with an 03 impala program will thats what colin is running
