i have a 99z24 v6 swapped. the pcm has been "tuned" with the auto codes erased and all vtd settings set to zero. the car starts and dies. the pcm is a 99 grand am and im told this is the same way a grand am responds to disabling vtd. my question it wat else are u guys disabling to eliminate passlock.im not running a bcm and idk about hookin up a resister or bypass module cuz idk were i need to wire them too. any insite for either option would be greatly appreciated.

Wait a minute, now that i think about it, my car did this.. It is the fuel pump. I just wired the fuel pump so it turns on with the key instead of the ecu controlling it. where the fuel pump relay is under the hood, you can jump two the the diaginal pins together, if you stand on the side of the car by the fuse box iirc its the

X O
O X

its the ones with the x you jump together.

HPTuners To disable VATS you must do the following:

1. Set the VATS value to "PWM"
2. Set DTC P1626 to "3 - No Error Reported"
3. Set DTC P1629 to "3 - No Error Reported"

^^ What he said.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to check that, it's up to your tuner.

If all of the above is correct in the tune, let us know.

There is absolutely no need for that at all.

I'm the one doing the tuning for him, I'm using DHP, and I'm assuming if I set the same codes for No Reporting, AND also set the VTD (as DHP calls it) to disabled then it should be all set?

Just a FYI,

In my 97 Venture ECM which has VTD disabled from the factory, codes 1626 and 1629 are both set to 2 "Service On" yet 1630 and 1631 are both set to 3 "No Reporting"

So I'm not sure how shutting off code 1626 (only one of the two suggested that is enabled in his bin) to a value of 3 "No Reporting" will fix this.

I set codes 1630 and 1631 to 3 to match the 97 venture file that I have that works with VTD shut off. I also set the 1626 code to 3 as well... Hopefully we can try this soon.
