except everytime i ever tried it that way, it would never come out the right color. don't know why either.

and Red2.ZCavi just cuz your editing software is on a different system is no excuse. paste it into mspaint save it as a jpg on a floppy and your set. the computer that has all my crap on isn't hooked up to the net either.

That is why I threw in the code also, there are also the HSB levels along with many other levels that need to be known so the color would be exact.

He just asked for RGB...so I gave him RGB

this system is at work....there is no floppy or cdrw drive.

if you work it with a tras. backgraound then save it as a gif the background will stay transparent??

there's a few different reasons that it might not be looking right. if your monitor's colors are not on the highest, it will make it look slightly different. also, if you save the picture and keep the file size extremely low, the compression will alter the color slightly as well.

I knew what she meant...just wanted to yank at her chain a little.

hehehe

NO yanking

and as a side not in general i hate transparent gifs. PAIN in the rear to fiddle with the percent of partially transparent pixels so that if you have any edges that are round they dont look all jaggedy.

Re: RGB Values of the ORG background...

yank yank...

Yeah, .gif is horrible for anything other than solid blocks

feather -
to blend from one color to another, like how around the star in my sig there is a maroon glow

but wouldnt that completely get rid of the point of making it transparent??? the point of transparencies would be so you can use it anywhere no matter what the background color. if you set the blend color on the partially transparent pixels to the ORG bg color then anytime you used it somwhere else you have pixels around your edges that were the org bg color. and it would loko liek crap. again pretty much destroying the point of making something transparent.

so if you planning on only using a sig for the ORG dont use transparent at ALL. just use your background color as the org and save as a jpg. it will be better quality than a gif anyways.
