How many of you have blown your ecotecs using nitrous, just curious because someone told me that it was a hard thing to accomplish. Considering you don't use a 75 shot off the line(oops that was me). I digress, who's done it and how big a shot did it give way.

Mine is still rolling on a 75 shot and I have tried it off the line before. Gone through 32 bottles now (320 lbs) of nitrous

32 bottles? NICE ... good to hear!

Nice to know that an ecotec can go that long on 32bottles.

320 lbs. of nitrous, nice. One question, do you have a bottle heater?

I dont really use my nitrous anymore, but when I did I pretty much did everything your NOT supposed to. I hardly ever ran high octane gas except at the track. And when at the track I would torque brake my car and flip the nitrous on as soon as my tires stopped spinning. I mostly ran a dry 70 shot. Only made maybe 3 passes on the wet 80. No problems what so ever

I've gone through 1 bottle in my 4G63 and haven't blown it. Does that count? lol

I used 75 shot all the time, 100 shot on ocassion. as long as everythign is done properly you wont have a problem untill your making so much power the rods let go. The only real concern is the scroll type intake manifold likes to cause fuel to puddle

does that intake from venom performance stop puddling from happaning or what about that intake from GM performance parts?

the gm one won't work in our cars without moving the radiator

and nobody has enough money to try the venom one

so nobody knows

Darkstars, what all did you have done when u were running the 75 and 100s. Just colder plugs etc? I feel you would want to retard the timing a little, but until the msd dis2 gets all the kinks worked out for the eco thats easier said than done. How much did you use doing the 75 shot, how many bottles rather.

I have done 31 bottles on the 75 shot but never tried the 100 --- I have colder plugs and run 94 octane and that is it

best time was last season 13.9@99 --- so far this year I have been to the track once and ran a 14.2 @ 100.1 ---> it had rained that day and my 60ft times were aweful

sexy, ill take those numbers and it sounds like with some work and the 100 12s are possible... not too shabby.
