multiple small bottles, F+F style yo
Wednesday, May 10, 2006 1:35 PM
has anybody got the kit the that Dom has in the passenger seat? I really like the stealth idea and don't care about the legalities, I would still like the downtube for safety. has anyone seen a pre-fabbed seat to flip up like that? any info helps, thanks.

I always thought that would be cool to do. I thought about it and i was thinking that its possible but for a blow down tube you would need some kind of flexable line or mount the front seat so that it doesnt slide back or forth. after thinking about that do a similar set up like he had but do it in the back seat instead.

boost will be soon for me....

what kind of tubing is the nx blowdown tube, just mandrel bent steel? does anyone know the diameter? im sure it would be easy to do a braided steel line under the seat.

The NOS tube is made out of aluminum. And if you fabricate one yourself, just remember one thing: if a situation ever calls for it to be "used," nitrous will be coming out of it at about 1,400 psi. In other words, make sure it's sturdy and properly installed

As far as that particular setup goes, I'm not totally sure how you'd plan on warming multiple bottles to get the pressure up. It looks good in the movie, but not exactly 100% functional.

what about the 15lb tank warmer, to cover 4 2.5lb that sit side by side?

If you put the bottles side by side, I'm not sure the 15lb. will even be long enough to wrap them all the way around. The only way I think it would work would be if you did 2 bottles on the bottom and 2 on top of them. But there really isn't enough room inside a seat to do that.

That's why you take all functionality out of the seat, bolt it directly to the floor and cut out the insides and make a small "cage" for your bottles.

well, is the bottle warmer an absolute must? i mean, with the material(foam and fabric) surrounding it, it should provide some sort of warmth. is it that the bottles give off cold temps? im very new to nitrous so any info would help me out. and this is in a total dreamer state right now, im not thinking about doing it anytime in the very near future.

also, on the blow down tube, it goes right outside, so is there some sort of filter to protect it from the elements?

is there a part that connects multiple bottles in series (if i dare say) so that there would only be the one line running into the engine bay. i think it would be weird having 4 lines going through the firewall... maybe im wrong.

It would be sweet to look at but all the time you gotta take to do that, just so a couple of friends can gather around your car and say how cool you are???

Not worth it to me.

I say get dual 15lb. bottles in your trunk if you wanna be cool.

Well I've seen a lotta good questions and no answers.

Yes you could have a set up like that, that is totally functional.
From the answers given I would hae to say no one who has commented has the
knowledge to work on a project like that yet.

Of course there isn't a set up you can purchase to do this.
It's all customwork.
Yes there is a way towork it so you have one hose running through the firewall to the engine bay.

As for heating them, use a seat heater. A regular seat heater underneat thebottle would be more than enough
to heat your bottles. With the foam and cloth orleather on yourseat it would insulate your bottles so for proper function,
if yournot in an environment that is warm I would recommend a heater. With the N2O being insulated it will
continue to keep the rest of the seat cold and I would be worried in colder climates that frost would collect on the
metal piping inside the seat. Electronics, condensation and foam are not a combination.

As for getting everything hooked up to one stainless steel hose. Well.. if you don't know much about
plumbing, fuel work, or nitrous oxide I would maybe get a professional to do that job.

Don't mean this post to offend anyone and I think that the idea is cool as all hell and
I am curious to try it. I'm planning on doing a nitrous system this summer so if work, my spare time
and my pay cheaques work out I'll try and get photos and make a guide to do this.

For anyone who may be curious before then, if you go to your local hardware store and check out the
plumbing section, with a little knowledge from who ever's working there you may be able to find a way to
plumb it yourself.
A good hint would be to look at the fuel system in your car already.
Those four bottles have to hook up to some sort of "fuel rail" before being piped out to your engine.
The plumbing store should be able to give you a good idea of how all the valves, and plumbing work should
hook up.
Other than that I'll try and look more into it for ya.

I dont think anyone gave an awnser to the Q beacuse in reality, its not really that hard to figure out. I mean four small bottles some hard lines with an fittings a gugae, and however complicated you want to get with the electrical, theres a million ways.

I really dont see a nitrous install needing much more than a wrecnh parts and common freaking knowldge. I mean damn.

for me, its a basic setup with multiple bottles, but the complication comes with a seat that moves back and forth. making the seat accomodate the setup will be the only challenge, should be fun though.

Haha there's a blooper.
If you guyslook at the knob and the guages.
Your looking at two different set ups!
the first one has the knob fartest from the driver and the gauges have flat bezels haha. Those are two
different cars!
Second one has the knob closest to tehdrive with two gauges that have rounded bezels.

Yea it was a copied set-up from the Old Blitz R34. The first pic is entirely a dummy set-up while the second set-up was a one take in the real car. You can tell which gauges are real and which are fake!

As far as the actual set-up, I'd never do that in the actual pass. seat.

1. it's wayyyy too hard (reasoning to why only 4-5 cars have it done and F&F couldn't copy it)
2. I'd never personally sit on or want anyone to sit on my N2o tanks with the metal bent pipes right on top of them
3. If ever in an accident, they're in such a confined spot that they might get pierced and BOOM
4. In the streets that'd be considered copying a lame movie, and I don't want to deal with it, haha
5. I have a Cavy and no one ever really thinks I'm spraying..................

BUT, I would take out my entire back seat and build a false floor and hide 1-2 10lb'ers under there. Same with the trunk area, just block it off from both sides and say its all audio or something?

N2O + Bolt-ons = 220Hp/250Tq

Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200

Looks like 4 bike bottles. the setup with the open valve dont understnad how that would work. way to much work just put your bottle or bottles in the trunk. thats all i did i got 2 bottles.

What size shot you running? They can tell when i am spraying. and i am only running a little 50 shot this time. I was running a 75 on my old nitrous kit. then i switched to a nx system and whent down to a 50

yeah, looks to be 4 bike bottles all open and all hooked up to a common distribution box which is connected to the valve and then thenitrous guage. The other guage looks to be a fuel pressure guage. honestly, it would be pretty easy to hook up.

4 - bike bottles
4 - bottle to 4AN fittings
8 - 4AN x 1/8" B-Nut
4 - 1/8" x 12" S/S tubing
1 - nitrous distribution block
1 - 1/8" NPT male nipple
1 - valve with 1/8 NPT connection
etc etc etc, depends on how you wanna connect the valve and the guages

That should be it, IDK, maybe it should be larger than 1/8 inch, maybe 1/4 instead, IDK...
here is a quick sketch..

tell me what you guys think.
