2 stage colder plugs
Saturday, September 29, 2007 2:37 PM
i know in the sticky it says for ngk is tr71 and acdelco is a 41-602 i think well i work at advance auto in the evenings for a second job and we have a part interchane which shows you other parts from different makers that are the same spec. so i crossed the acdelco number of 41-602 and it brought up ngk part number 7373 for only 1.98 a plug . anybody else agree with this ngk # being 2 stage colder plugs ??

May help if you post what engine you have...

I use NGK TR6 4177's as a 2-step colder plug in my car

Well, there's a TR6 4177, 4176, 4175, etc. When I researched in the first place YEARS ago, I think the 75 was stock and 77 was 2-steps colder.

Lol...no, they don't. I just bought the same set of plugs (again) for the break-in process of my built motor. Next season it's a set of Denso Iridiums.

Any other stupid comments?

Quit actin' like a know it all tool and we won't have any problems, trust me you don't want to start an E-war with me,lol.

Show proof that "years" ago the TR6 4177 was ever 2 steps colder.

E-war? What are we, back in high school? I've been working on J's for a long time. You know what I build in my spare time. Take it as you will.

You want proof? Go to Napa and ask for yourself. Or, note the fact that I ran anywhere between a 40-60 dry shot on my motor for years with no problem with those plugs. Or that I use them now on 8 PSI...guess what...still no problems! Funny how that works...

You didn't get the LOL part did ya'?I'm happy your car runs good with those plugs, but hasn't your car been sitting parked for a long time?Damn,at least I drive mine.

Y'know, man...yes, my car sits in a heated garage at all times. Last winter I built a bullet-proof motor in-house, only out-sourcing for the machine work. This season I've been breaking it in on 6-8 PSI and it runs great. I drove it to a few car shows and brought home a first place trophy at the Right Coast Sport Compact and Truck Blast. Sure, it has little bugs here and there...all easy fixes and things I WANT to know about before the boost is in the teens.

I used to drive my car all the time, too, when it had just basic bolt-ons. I checked out your registry...no pictures and I believe you said yourself you don't do most of the work, your buddies do. Just saying I'm not impressed and unless you can help me understand how you know so much about nitrous and plugs (seeing as how you're un-boosted) I'm just going to go on thinking this way.

Ah...you do run an NX kit. My bad! Who did the install?

Well first off, congrats on your trophy and secondly I learn from this very site and from old guys that I have worked with that have been into building drag cars before you and I ever thought about doing it.Thirdly,ALL of the work on my car has been done by myself other than some minor help from a couple JBOM guys. That quote in my registry is kind of a joke,I did all the wiring for my wet kit and any and all upgrade/changes to it.I recently went back to the stock appearance because show cars are not my taste. But why would I need pics when you see what my car looks like in my sig. minus the covers, badges, and moldings.Did I ever once say that I knew MORE about nitrous systems than YOU?No I didn't,but if you doubt my knowledge then fine but don't come in here talkin' crap and not expect a response.I personally, DO NOT think a high shot is safe with a dry kit,if the OP agrees or disagress then fine he or she needs to do research themselves and not just trust the opinions of two or three people.
