Will a bottle blanket be enough in a warm climate?
Thursday, April 23, 2009 3:14 PM
Just wanted to know if a bottle blanket would be enough to control temp and pressure in a warm environment. I live in SC and would only really be racing during the warmer months when it's 85-99 degrees outside.

You still need a bottle heater

Yea i agree with biggs you will still need a bottle warmer, the bottle blankets are designed to keep heat in but also to keep heat out.

so, you guys agree even in a warm climate and a small 35-50 shot it's needed to have a heater

Yes sir,psi will go down as well the more you use the nitrous.Bottle heater and look into the NANO setup.

I got my bottle heater from dyno tune. it is fully automatic i think it was around $115 shipped. Not to thread jack or anything but biggs when my bottle gets down to like 2 pounds left i cant get the bottle pressure above 550psi is that normal.

On a 10lb bottle that seems somewhat normal, just make sure the angle of the bottle is correct

Yea i have the bottle angle right but i just hate having that little psi cause the guy that refills it will only refill bottle if it is empty.

Yeah you'll still need the heater but I suggest a blanket as well as it makes the bottle heat up SOOO much faster.

id still get a bottle heater just to be safe because after a couple of runs the escaping nitrous will cool down the bottle temp, thus why you would want a heater instead of a blanket to get the temp up quicker
