My 345 is shutting down due to "excessive current." What are your thoughts on this. What causes it? Its not a major problem because it only happened when i turned on super bass for one song. and i never have it turned on other than to show someone how loud it goes
My guess is number 2
Turn down the damn gain and set it the right way
RE Audio
forgot to add....DO NOT use the "super bass feature". It's like instant distortion.

Ummm...thanks but as i said in the beginning, its set to default, which is very low, no distorion at all. In the next week or so im going to take it to the professionals and let them do it as i want to get a SLP reading, and its free with the tune.

I dont typically use it. Like i said, i just turned it on for the friends real quick. Super bass doesnt distort @!#$. Not to the ears anyways. It sounds perfectly fine as almost no bass is going to my door speakers, and my subs can handle it.
On the clipping and Low Voltage. It could be clipping. I did have it turned up quite loud and in comination with the super Bass....it shut off.
Now just so i can check, what would you consider low voltage. God i cant wait to do the big three
Some amps shut down at anything below 12 volts.
RE Audio
Ill have to check what it is on this amp. thanks
What do you mean by "default" setting?
RE Audio
I mean its a digital amp, no knobs to turn, it comes with factory settings. Default=Factory. And it sounds good. The gain is very minimal right now and im gunna leave it that way untill Benchmark Audio has a chance to look at it.
I just dont understand how an amp company can put a "default" setting on an amp gain when they have no idea what the input voltage is going to be.

You seem to really know what your talking about when it comes to stereos but do you ever read the @!#$ posts. This is like the 5th time you have questioned something i already explained. once again DEFAULT=FACTORY. All the amps ship with the same settings. Im gunna use those because they sound good. And i dont feel like messing with it untill i take it to someone. Why ruin a good thing?
youre an ass

Thats exactly what I'm talking about. If you actuallyknew a thing or two about car audio you'd understand. I'm done trying to help you.
Without the manufacturer know the imput voltage...lets just say they *assume* it going to be 2-4volt....so they set the DEFAULT gain setting for 4 volt. WTF do you think happens if you have an 8 volt input???? Potential is there for something bad. Even if the factory setting is only 1/4 of max....IT STILL NEEDS TO BE CHECKED!!!!!!!
I'm done with you.

Well im sorry we arent all experts like you. I compleltly get what your saying. My point is, im not going to @!#$ with it untill i take it to someone.
I could care less if your done helping. You act like your the @!#$ car stereo god or something, all you did in the beginning was laugh because something did look right to you. Big help.
