I think I'll have to do this for @!#$s and giggles.
Nothing wrong with a little extra ooomph

Alexis: Dustin, you're ghey, lol. I am better. I have tits, and tits rule all.
Im getting another alt in tomorrow. Hopefully its right this time.
i made an adjustable regulator for mine, i charge the "stock" battery at 15.5 lol
its not boiling or swelling yet
And you STILL wont tell me how to do it!
Yes. I want more voltage. I wanna sit at 15v but I dont wanna spend all the dough of the MLA
Are you selling the batt on SMD?
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.

thinking about keeping it, ive been persuaded to wall the cavalier i think.
Anyone who does this is going to need a smaller pulley. I cant find an inch longer 5 groove. Ive been told twice that ours is the longest 5 groove made.
Get a 6 groove and cut off the extra rib we've done it on a few cars for s/c's and things.

Ill do that if I decide to not get a smaller pulley. Im leaning towards the pulley since it will spin the alt faster.
Wait.....so wouldnt it work to run that alternator and use an under drive pulley for the original 2200 alternator and not have to get a different belt?? I know its probably going to get shot down...but just popped in my head lol

Thats what Im doing. Running stock belt and a smaller pulley. My pulley is just a generic pulley I got at the local Auto store.
I just found a guy here locally to rebuild the stock alternator. All heavy duty parts and a 220 Amp stater. No issues with belts and pulleys and more power then I could ever draw.
Well except for changing the stator will cause youre output at low rpms to drop. Youre probably doing 220 while driving but at idle you probably are the same or less than stock.
Hence why people buy DC power and Iraggi alts since they arent just HO stators. Theyre completely rebuilt alts.
That was a concern I expressed. The stock 105 amp alternator has a two wrap stater. So we decided to go with the new 220 ampwhich has a four wrap stater, so I should gain 40-50 amps at idle. But I guess we'll see.
So...I looked it up and thought this might help some people out.....an applications list of what all these alternators came on.....

Issue with the CS130D is heat, and then your voltage regulator tends to @!#$ the bed. Large case GM alts are beefier, and they have a lot better cooling. That's the whole reason I went large case on my last build.

Did you ever get this set up? If so, what kind of pully do I need to get and are there any issues with it spinning faster?
It appears my alternator is pooched. I got it tested and it crashed there computer... So i thought this would be a good upgrade.
and Sorry to bring this thread back, but i figured it would be better then starting a new one when this is already here.
I really havent figured out the pulley part. My pulley is a little too small and the belt has some slop in it but it does the job. The stock pulley is 2.25 inches so go from there I guess.
Just make sure you dont use too big of a pulley and put too much tension in the belt. It can wear out your main bearings.
Alright, so maybe like a 1.5 inch pully? and so there is no problem with it spinning faster?
