I have a set of infiniti reference9623i 6X9's. I know you must trim the hole in the rear speaker deck out a little bit, and you must trim the plastic speaker ring out as well. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if so what are the dimensions you trimmed out too? I have tried searching and can not find it at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

i say get some 6X9 rings sized for you're speakers... screw em down on the deck and then mount them. maybe a 1/2" would do it....
that way you dont need to cut the deck at all. essentially, you're just sitting the speaker up a tad. pry have to cut the carpet above out though...

I must confess... I feel like a monster!

Our speakers already sit in baffles on the deck. Just put them in that. If theyre too big then trim the plastic ring

I had Infinity reference 6x9's in the rear of my cav and I just used an air powered body saw with a metal blade and trimmed probably 3/16" around the hole and they fit fine.

Just letting everyone know. It was a total success. No modification at all. Just used the stock plastic speaker ring thingy (technical terms).
