Fuse tap power windows? or too much power?
Tuesday, October 25, 2011 3:50 PM
So I'm in the process of installing a power window kit in my car (only the driver side installed so far), currently powered through an unused fuse slot that is only on in ignition. I want something that is also on in ACC.

The power windows are on a 30 amp fuse, I'm just wondering, if I fuse tap off something else, is that too much juice to be running through the fuse box? (or, is there a suitable switched 12v source under the dash anywhere?)

Or am I better off just fuse tapping to a relay and have the power straight from the battery?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I used the wiper fuse area to tap for power windows with no problems.

use a relay, switched on by your fuse tap
