very odd dash problems
Wednesday, June 06, 2012 7:19 PM
All of my meters are being very strange, me and my dad have never seen this happen befor on anything. As we are driving all the gauges will work at differnt times, basically like there all dancing. one goes up another down and up and down like the themostat will work but nothing else then all the sudden the speedometer will work but the fuel gauge quites and all of them are doing this at complete random. whats going on? Any ideas, is this even heard of? its like a gosht is controlling all the guages in the car and is playing with them.

When My diesel pickup gauges were jumping around I pulled the dash tightened the ground wires, cleaned the contact strips and put it back in. Give it a extra thump where the dash goes into the connector. it has worked well with no problems and that was 7 years ago. only takes about an hour and costs nothing to try.

If checking the connections doesn't work, swap the cluster. Any 00-05 Cavalier or Sunfire will work

Had a similar problem. The connector was slightly dirty and losing contact.
