Ok this might sound really stupid and i appologize...but i own a kicker SX 1250.1 AMP and i was wondering it asks for a 2 gauge power wire ...i was wondering ...im in construction so there is alot of electricians around and they have tons of 1 gauge power wire but its aluminum and i guess u can get copperi was wonder whats the difference between this 2 gauge and the 2 gauge u buy at a car audio place ..i can get it for free or go to car audio place and pay for it i rather go free
As long as it's stranded, you should be fine. And strand count, is also important. Do a search for 2 awg online, and see what the average strand count is in car audio stores, and compare.
AC wire and DC wire are totally different. one has a small number of really big strands...the other has a large number of really small strands.
