Hey, I'm just about finished installing my Saab Setup.
It's the Low pressure Garrett. I'm using a Manifold without the air injection ports.
I ordered a new, stock GM ecotec exhaust gasket for my 04 Cav. Fits perfectly, but
it doesn't block the EGR hole on the back of the head. Where as my original
stock manifold covered it up. My saab manifold doesn't. So I fire up the car and it's
huffing out of the uncovered hole. Will using the SAAB gasket fix this??
My manifold only uses 9 of the 10 studs.
My other question relates to the turbo itself
The factory Bypass Valve, where does that go to? do i run a vacuum line to the intake
manifold? The other end, do i run that to the valve cover?
Also do i have my boost controller (red arrow) in the right sport?
Green arrows show wastegate and the reference port on the compressor housing.
Any help would be appreciated.

The green arrows are correct yes, and yes the port on the inlet could run to the PCV valve (valve cover port), as for the other device, which looks like a blow off valve mounted to the turbo compressor housing, if that is what it is the line on top would run to a vacuum source coming from the intake manifold.
you can just make a block off plate and put it on the front where the EGR would have been, thats how i fixed it...

Thank you. Thats exactly what i thought. Just wanted to make sure.

I'm not talking about the EGR on the side. Thats factory blocked off. Mine is the location on the back of the cylinder head. Top area of the drivers side. All the saab manifolds i look at, would block it off. except mine. I might have to make up a plate that is held in by that last manifold bolt. If thats what you're talking about, then i thank you as well. It's late, and brain not working good.

lol, sorry got your engine and mine confused... hence my sleep deprived mind. but i would try to block it off with just the one bolt. but you might wind up having to find a different manifold. If you put some RTV (i know it sucks) around the hole then put the plate on it might seal good enough..

Only 2003 saabs came with air injection. So an exhaust manifold gasket off an 04+ 9-3 will cover the air injection holes.
Did any one find a solution to this because mine has the same problem?

No one has found the solution, except for the 10 posts I've made about the 2003's and air injection.

I'm not talking about air injection. My manifold is not a 2003. It uses 9 of the 10 studs. I was referring to the EGR hole on the
back of the cylinder head beside cylinder number 4. I've solved my exhaust leak issues. I made a 1/4" plate that utilizes the #10 bolt hole and covers the remaining piece of the EGR port on the back of the head. I also had an issue with the manifold not seating on the head correctly because the number 2 exhaust runner was hitting on the engine block heater. I just removed the block heater for now until i grind a relief down into it. That will cure that issue.
Next on the list is to properly mount the intercooler and fab up some new charge pipes.
I'll post pics later on tonight.
