i want something that can do well at the bash

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
hmmm....... Learn how to and what needs to be doen to get better traction at the track. All the power in the world won't matter if you can't put it down firmly to the track and control wheel spin.
Remember, Practice makes perfect.
My 03 was STOCK except an intake and I had better 60' times and beat A LOT of others out of the hole, just becasue they could not hook up. Figure out what needs to be done suspension wise to improve your launches.
just ordered a upper mount today which should completely eliminate motor flex, also working on the co2 intercooler setup
axles, drag radials clutch and many many suspension things coming

I really don't see the C02 system doing much. I noticed a difference when I did the dual pass intercooler mod as well as the water/meth injection on hot days, if you haven't done so I'd suggest it.
Was the 278whp dynodynamics numbers or the dynojet comparison? What'd you trap when you were there?

thats because you were trying to xontrol 120 whp not 250+
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
120 hp of 250 hp. he still needs to hook up. even if he gets this heat issue fixed, Rodi is still gonna spin

well thats what boost cut is for

yea i can't imagine trying to launch a car with about 200ftlbs off idle. that's why supercharges are good street cars. it must take crazy skill and suspension/drivetrain tuning to get it right.
Rodimus Prime wrote:well thats what boost cut is for
well then if thats the case, either you are not using boost cut or you are and its not working right.
you said so yourself to me almost 2-3 weeks ago that you think superchargers are better than turbo for whatever reason. and now you make a post wanting a turbo. i dont get it.
it seems to me and some that you are ignoring a bigger problem with the traction problems and launching the car. street tires are made to driven on the street not the track. far as the heat issues go, it maybe 80-90 degrees outside on some local street and the tune you are using maybe working great. take that tune to a track where its 122 degree track temp you are going to have issues with the car, with the tune etc etc. you need practice and to solve the traction problem. you do that you might actually be happy for once with the car

it takes some practice to find the sweet spot that has enough power to not bog but at the same time not roast the tires. right now im on 40% cut thats still 12psi which is more than enough to break them loose to the 330 mark at the track. I just need more time to continue trimming it back. Its not a matter of it not "working right", its delivering exactly what I tell it to.
Once I have the drag radials and axles and clutch ill be able to take advantage of all that low end torque thats something thats in the works its 2k worth of parts so its not going to happen yet this year

if you ever get the need for drag radials and locate 16 inch rims that would fit on the SS, i still those DRs left over from the camaro. they are bald but they are still good for a few more passes

the redline ion wheels are going to be for racing

The header is the same isnt it? different intake manifold flange?

between the lnf, lsj and the l61, the exhaust manifold and intake manifold bolt patterns are the same.
LE5 as well....hence the whole Ecotec family thing.
