turbo cars get way better gas milage then supercharged cars. if im not mistaken the main reason is because a turbo is using free energy where as a supercharger is forced into robing power from the engine in order to make power. so assuming all other things being equal a supercharged engine will need more fuel to deliver the same power out put.
my theory on turbo vs sc and why i went turbo is, im not limited by pulley size and port and polish, if i want more power, bigger turbo, pull mine off, bolt a bigger one on, end of story. more complex but more fun.
not that i disagree with what your saying Vince, cuz i agree more potential in a turbo, but i can do the same thing, pull off the pos m62, insert Harrop TVS, bam in the 13's...problem is i don't have a spair 1500 -2g's lol
I went super, beacuse it was bolt on reliability, and enough power for me to work with. Sorta took the easy way out, 5 year old can put the gm kit on.
as for fuel mileage, didn't notice a difference at all.....where the fuel problem comes in is when you hear the whine.....you hear it.....you like it.....you want more.....foot to the floar all the time.....bye bye gas lol

true you can, but mod that sc. what can you do to it? port polish, smaller pulley, heat exchanger, ya know...
for the turbo, i can get a different wheel, housing, coatings, piping, turbo size flanges, TONS more options.
Could I pull that turbo out and put it in my cavy and then I'd have a whole car. It'd cost almost as much as the new Hahn kit plus i'd have a whole car. What else would I need besides the turbo from that car?
hmm... Ebay kit... Not made for your car... bad copies. Assuming somehow you get it running(keep in mind you will have to buy almost everything to replace that garbage in the kit) The Turbo will most likely start leaking oil in the first hour.
As for the gas mileage, it's going to be directly related to heavy your foot is on the gas pedal. If you drive at 4500rpms in a low gear and are constantly boosting, your going to blow more gas just like a stock motor would. Other than that you're not going to see a life altering change in fuel economy.
