Why not on either of those? I think they would be better than current. Still engine bay looks great!

Looks great I think, but I feel ya on hoses just being everywhere. Im sure you'll get it cleaned up nicely. I just don't like how the filter is just sitting in that location. But I do see there wasn't much choice or option to put it anywhere else.

Dyno numbers won't be for a few weeks. I need to get the tune ironed out more as well as going through and taking the inner timing cover assembly off to fix my oil leak. The local dyno shop has already told me I am not allowed on the dyno untill it is fixed. Keep in mind they want to know what it is making just as bad as we all do.

As for the brake booster line, that is not a permanent location. The more I think about it I probably will relocate it some where. Having the nipple for it on the supercharger where it is and being so close to the power steering limits my options. I have ran it under all the wires and radiator hose before with the M45 and I am considering going that route again. Right now that side of the engine bay is so crowded it would be difficult especially with the new location of the throttle body adapter, throttle body and air filter. I am going to pull the oil pressure gauge and the T piping it is attached to. That should free up alot of room.

I am also considering taking out the meth kit but have not decided for sure yet. The intercooler design worked great on the highway. The constant flow of cool air through the sc kept it from even getting warm to the touch on the trip home. However since there is no phenolic spacer anywhere when the car sits the supercharger heats up and gets hot to the touch. I am exploring some options for a phenolic spacer now as it is a must have.

There are some small issues that need to be sorted out too such as. There was no hole made for the IAT sensor. (Thus why I don't have any IAT readings yet) The plan is to drill and tap the side of the manifold for an F-body thread in IAT sensor.

I would highly reccomend to anyone who does this setup to relocate the battery to the trunk. It was reccomended to me but I was stubborn.

Wow they did not plan for the IAT sensor? That is a little mind blowing.

Wade as for your meth kit. I would keep it, but relocate it. Mount the pump underneath the turn signal light on the drivers side. I have mine there. I have never liked the look of them in the engine bay. That should free up some room. even if the intercooler is working great, meth can still help.

Umm yeah...I am not sure how the IAT sensor was overlooked considering it is very important. I was a little blown away by that myself.

The manifold is threaded for the alky injection nozzle which is nice. I know there is still a benefit to be had even with the intercooler. I am trying to weigh in my mind which I would rather have, the benefit of it or the simplicity and extra room that would come with it being gone. Mounting the pump where you mentioned sounds like a good idea. I was considering selling the alky kit with my m45 though.

I just realized that I can cap off vaccum port on the m62 for the brake booster line and use the same throttle body port I used with the m45 and the stock intake manifold. That should help clean things up. I am going to try and relocate that tonight and post a pic.

Video for sure tonight. I am really looking forward to making it.

with a tune worth a damn i think this setup has 300whp in it. if the cobalt guys can do it with a smaller engine i do not see any reason why wade cannot.

wade... i am saying use the stock metal tube for the brake booster (only like 8 inches of it though, and just the straight section). this way it would be clear down on the block and out of the way, plus you can still bolt it up and keep it like stock but without the unchangingness of all the stupid bends. then just connect both ends with rubber hose. i think this would clean things up tremendously.

painted vacuum t's FTW. hahahaha

im pretty sure wade made 217 whp with m45 iirc
so only gain 23 whp from m62 with and extra 6-7 psi?

8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100

Whats your pulley ratio and engine redline? GIve me that, and I'll tell you what its capable of. Whether you can do those numbers or not will be dependant on state of tune.

7000 RPMs
Stock LD9 Crank pulley = 6.5"
M62 Pulley = 2.9"

Drive pulley ratio = 2.241 ( Good grief!)

7000 x 2.241= 15689 RPMs at the blower

15700 RPM = 500 CFM's

500 CFMs x .7 = 350HP at crank shaft Pre SC draw.
M62 Drive loss = 50HP'ish
Final Crank HP = 300
300 x .85 = 255 WHP

In a 2800lbs car, that will be good for 105.3 MPH 1/4mi pass.

I'll speculate a very low 13.xx with moderate traction.

shawn-did you take into account the fact that the engine has a ported head, balanced forged internals, the 2.3 oil pump swap, header, and secret cams?

wade- i think it may just be time to start thinking about some exhaust upgrades finally. that stock cat, resonator, and muffler as well as stock 2" diameter piping has GOT to be holding you back. maybe just a cutout right after the header?

my advisement:

flash ron's old tune with gary's fuel trims and take off the exhaust from the header back. i bet the car blows you're mind after that.

Oh we are doing dyno predictons now eh? Keep in mind the intercooler is going to be for the most part useless on the dyno even with a fan blowing on it. I plan on dynoing the car as it sits with it's completly stock save for the header exhaust and then with the cat lopped off so the only exhaust is the header and downpipe. I am really curious what kind of power I can gain by changing the exhaust.

I might be dropping down to a 2.8" pulley here soon too.

I did get some videos late last night. I was too tired to upload and edit them last night but I have nothing going on after work tonight so I will have them up this evening. I ran the car hard last night and the M62 did not heatsoak like the M45 would have. Each pull felt just as strong and consistent as the one before it. When I got back I popped the hood and the sc was warm but not bad enough to burn you whereas if I had beat up on the M45 like that it would have burned you instantly.
