Not that anyone cares, but some updates and changes on my turbo build.....

OK, as the title says, I'm posting some pictures of my turbo re-build for my Sunfire. I've got some new parts and some ideas that I haven't seen yet. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think!!!!

My freshly painted fuel rail with my Siemens Deka injectors installed. Also, I have the Accell adjustable fuel pressure regulator installed too. The injectors are 80 lb/hr high impedence.

Brand new ACT ceramic 6-puck clutch disc. Actually it's designed for the 95-99 Isuzu transmission-equipped Z24/GT, but the specs are exactly the same as the 03+Eco Getrag cars!!!

The complete clutch setup with Fidanza aluminum flywheel. BTW, thats a stock pressure plate all painted up nice and pretty. The result of friends+boredom+spare paint laying around.

My custom-made downpipe elbow and stainless steel braided oil return line.

My 2.4 Ecotec VVT intake manifold. I smoothed out and removed all casting lines. This is after about 5 coats of enamel, and 3 coats of clear. The holes are for my vacuum line adapters.

2.4 manifold adapter spacer with holes machined for the IAC valve. My external wastegate and RFL blow-off valve with vacuum adapters installed. And also, the reason for the vacuum adapters; I am running all metal lines for vacuum. Absolutely no chance of swelling, leakage, or failure of any sort!!! Completely hand polished stainless steel tubing buffed to a mirror finish!!!!

What brand are the wastegate and BOV?

Running all that metal line is going to suck. I would have gone with some braided ss line. Its easier to run and it looks really nice.

What are the specs on the injectors?

Injectors are Siemens Deka. 80lb/875cc flow rate. 12 ohms resistance
The wastegate is an E-bay special that I rebuild with genuine Tial internals and valve. I like the smoother look that the knockoffs have, plus I saved about $70 compared to just buying the real deal.

The blow off valve is the knockoff RFL that I have used since I turbocharged my car. I've never had any problems with it whatsoever.

I used the stock pressure plate because most of the aftermarket ones are either just heat treated and modified stock plates, or they have problems with releasing at higher RPMs.

Not new, but it had less that 5000 miles on it when I took it out. I replaced it with the centerforce clutch, which by the way was the biggest piece of crap cluch that I have ever seen.

David, yeah that cylinder head turned out awesome!!! Thanks for the tip!!!

Nice build. How long have you had the flywheel? Didn't some of the old ones have sheering problems? Id cryotreat it while it's out to be safe. That's what happen to me. Maybe I had a bad batch. This was 4 years ago.

I bought my flywheel either right before, or right after everyone seemed to be having problems, I don't really remember when for sure. Either way, I've never had any problem with mine, and it's had about 20,000 miles of hard driving on it.

More pics now!!!!!!!!!!

My transmission before I cleaned it last night,

Taken right after I cleaned and power washed it. I used Purple Power degreaser, and aluminum wheel cleaner.

All painted up and lookin good!!!!

Painted up, shot from a different view.

My ACT ceramic 6-puck disc. Designed for the 95-99 Isuzu tranny Z24/GT. Fits perfect in the Eco Getrag J's!!!!

A few more pics.....

My computer cleaned up and painted.

My brakets all painted up and shiny, although its basically pointless, in all likelihood I'm going to be doing a wire-tuck anyways.

Another tidbit I forgot for the engine internals, balance shaft delete!!!!!

What was the point of cutting the block in half?? Probably a stupid question but just wondering...
