The issue with ecoblue on the ion is that he did nothing as far as cam timing, so that may account for his super high TQ off the line, not to mention he's running a 2.4 on a turbo designed on a 2.0. I am VERY interested on seeing how this works on a 2.2 eco, ever more so on the possible 2.1 eco.
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
Lol you give the K04 more credit than some. many (maybe not me) would argue it's even undersized for the 2.0 LNF
as for an update i havea weird exhaust issue, just a leak i guess, Drives great on the reflash, seeing 8psi without messing with the wastegate. incredible low end torque, i have baer brakes and heavy 18's and it will just roast em without thinking about it, pretty fun to drive, and real quiet, i just kinda dropped off ont he project as i got a new ride, si its been collecting dust in the garage.
Just thinking about this car, how's it running? Can we get a video of the pull or flyby, that would be awesome

snowman any updates to add etc??
Last i saw he posted it up for sale.
wow. I really liked what he was doing there. Innovation is key. And of coarse ignoring all those haters that say "why you doing that", Or "it can't be done"...etc.
I really would have hope he would have found a way to make the stock charge piping work. But then again even the LNF guys swap it out for the Haun hard pipes.
GMR has got nothing on this
He was selling the whole car....iirc
it runs great, drove it at the local cruise night a couple weeks ago, its just chillen in the garage.
So your not selling it then afterall?
oh its for sale still, im just not pushing it.
What you are seeling it????????
ive pondered it, its jsut sitting and i have to get rid of one of my cars to get another lol
Understand, mine gets about 100 miles a year if that. I got a commander and its nice, luckily I didn't have to sell mine to get the truck. Gotta do what you have to do though right?
I CURRENTLY HAVE
96 sunfire -street toy
86 jeep cj-7 - dirt toy
07 nissan titan - tow rig
08 scion tc - commuter
2011 scion xb - wifes commuter
Since i have been getting a bunch of pic requests and a what all is needed i thought i would write it to try and help out those trying to do it.
first off you will need:
the turbocharger and manifold, a given lol
the oiling system
* the top line is the oil feed, if you save the pics and zoom in you will see it better.
*the lower line is the return
** usually these lines come with the turbo
cooling system
this is the thermostat housing, you will need everything from 311 to the right
*note that number 308 has 2 nipples, the smaller will go to your new coolant jug
cooling part 2
here you will need # 7 its a longer radiator hose due to having the the different thermostat housing the stock radiator hose will be shorter.
and you can kinda see how you will plum the new coolant jug and lines.
turbocharger mounting
number 627 will fit, but just barely w/ the manual trans, the flange on the lower 1/2 is huge and is very close to the steering rack.
i would recomment a new downpip made fromt he turbo to cat.
the cobalt ss/hhr downpipe will not fit at all, our rack"opening isnt near big enough and the dual cats will not fit.
thats all i can think of right now, i can post part number if needed, but everything can be purchased used for alot cheaper than new.
So would it be correct that this setup will only work on a manual??
if you made your own downpipe then it would work fine.
the turbo is clocked up, which was the issue w/. the saab setup it faced down.
cant the outlet be swaped with the l61? so it doesnt return to the coolant tank? i know the housing needs to be used but i mean just the water neck?
THE HOUSING IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, THE 2 ARENT INTERCHANGEABLE
SORRY FOR CAPS
they keep getting deleted when i rearrange my photobucket
here ya go
update, still running good, in the process of hptunning it on a 2.4 ecm with the old superchager flash. its doin well, adding a vaccuum tank really helps(stock on Lnf)
here are all the broken links of the pics that were broken.
lnf chage pipes

currently
charge pipe routing
turbo to j-body thermostat housing clearence
clearence view
new thermostat housing
Is that a LSJ housing for the water that gives more clearance?
its a le5 housing, and ya need the crossover pipe to lnf pipe for lnf turbo or regular to just run the housing.
