You can get the reflash on hptuners. If you get the flash from the dealer they will lock the file not allowing you to edit it. So it will be better to get it through hp tuners.

GMR has got nothing on this

^I think that's for the L61's S/C.
Call the 1800# or GMPP and they will tell you how to DL the program to the Tech-2 and then send the new program via OBD port. That's what I did 7 years ago. lol

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that what you will pay a dealer for the flash, you could find someone local with HPT and have a much better base tune flashed...

Find somebody who has HPTUNERS, license your vehicle for 2 credits ($99 usd) and then flash the GMSC flash on. Myself and a few other people have the stock 5spd flash available if you need it.

I have done this 3 times, works like a charm every time. I know ONE person had an issue doing this once and had to get the dealer to do it but that was an odd case, I think.

But guys he can get the stock flash for free from the dealer if he can get the party number. Just try to find the gm install instructions and it should list the part number.

Can you? Forgive me, I've never bought a new charger, just helped others out when they couldn't get a stock flash put in.

If that's available, def take it. Free is best.

Sorry to bring this back, but I was wondering how long the reflash takes to program?

In regards to using HPT to load the GM reflash to a car. This can be done and I have done it. The first time I did it was on my car. I bought the charger used from a guy I knew and had tuned his car with said charger, so I had a copy of the file. Loaded that to my car, and it ran, but like crap. It would misfire like crazy if you tried to get on it. I replaced coil packs, plugs etc... Finally took it to my friend (who I bought the charger from, and he worked at a GM dealer), he loaded a fresh from GM file to my car for $50. Never looked back.

I have heard of a couple other people who have had the samething happen. Not sure if it is a HPT deal or what.

So i always recommend if you have the option to get it from GM to do so.
