So I am putting my m62 on tomorrow. Couple q's
1. I was cutting the extra rib off the ss s/c belt I bought and accidentally took about an inch of the good rib. Is this going to cause big problems? Should I go ahead and order a new one and replace it asap?
2, I need to figure out what I am going to do about an air filter. I am thinking about buying a short cone style filter and putting it between the end of the charger and my battery. Or should I just get a 90* elbow? What size do I need is it 3" ?

1. Get yourself a new belt. I wouldn't even run the one with the sliced rib, you'd be asking for a problem.
2. It's preference really. Not really a right or wrong way, it's what fits your set up the best. I've seen many setups cut down an AEM or K&N intake, while others like myself just use a cone filter on the end of the TB. Here's mine:
Replace the belt.
Filter is anything you can make fit with the space you have, same with any intake piping setup you would wanna run.

yeah but i took about an inch 3/4 an inch off the back of one on the ribs I was trying to keep! DOH!
on the intake I was wondering what the size the filter needs to be to just fit on the end. Is it 2.75"?
Cool got the gates belt and a short 3" diameter spectre filter from
Autozone. I'll just slap that on the t/b for now. Looks like it should work.

The short spetre air filter will NOT fit between the throttle body and the battery. Well it just barely does but the engine rocking will pull it off the tb.

hey what did you end up using for your air filter?
I ended up moving the battery to the trunk and using some monster K&N filter I picked by size out of their catalog.

I ended up getting 2 90* pipes a 4" coupler, a 60* pipe and using that small spectre filter. It cost me $40. I think eventually I'll move the battery to the trunk like leafy did and just throw a filter on the end of the charger.
