Yea that's not right. Does it stop gaining boost at a low rpm like 4k. Or does it climb all the way to redline.

If it's stoping at a low rpm I would say the valve or the blower itself if it's climbing the whole way to redline it could be a bad gauge

Do you have the heatexchanger hooked up? And what's your vac at idle?

Didn't realize you're running the stock sized belt. Even with the oversized tensioner I bet the belt is slipping. I'm running a stage 2 belt on a 2.9 without the oversized tensioner and it's the perfect size. So I'd guess your belt is just a little too big. You may or may not have to swap back to the stock sized tensioner with a stage 2 belt but you'll have to wait and see.

When you watch the boost gauge does it go to 9psi right away and stay there or does it start to bleed off?

The belt may be tight, but remember the faster you try to spin your blower the more resistant it is to spinning so enough tension at 5psi does not equal enough tension at 9+psi. I had some slippage issues and I bought the adjustable tensioner that ZZP sells, problem is gone.

Any rattles or noise other than the characteristic whine from the supercharger? I still think your belt may be slipping but just trying to cover everything.

You said your Vac is at 17, is that in inHg? I idle ~21inHg/10psi. Might want to check for a Vac/boost leak at your IM gaskets.
