What are the chances that Quaife USA will have customs seize them coming into the states because of business conflicts??? It has happened before with other products other companys...

I talked to quaife usa, they sounded to me like they wouldn't have any issues with it being imported, it just won't be warrantied

(again quaife usa warranties diffs shipped through them, quaife UK does not warranty diffs)

I've talked with both Karo of carcustoms and Dauber of highrevmotorsports

they both think this deal is fishy and I'm starting to wonder a bit more myself...Dauber said when talking to quaife US and UK they wouldn't bother make a set of diffs for a minimum order of even 100...

I guess I'm just saying faith isn't enough for $900ish and I'll want some proof about the time that money is due
OK guys, let's put this one to bed for the doubters!

If this deal is fishy, I don't know what I took delivery of this morning if it wasn't a very heavy box full of Quaife ATB diffs! (Clue: it was.)

I have contacted CarNEffects to discuss with Tony the best way to arrange for payment and delivery of these.

The good news: now I have package weights and sizes, I have got some delivery estimates and it looks like the price will be around $730 to me, PLUS your onwards delivery from CarsNEffects and Tony's costs. The swing in the UK/US exchange rate from 1.95 back when these were ordered to about 1.75 now has worked in your favours.

The bad news: Quaife could not sell me, as a company (to avoid you guys paying additional UK taxes), as many diffs as I originally hoped. Therefore, if everyone who ever asked for a diff still wants one, some are going to be disappointed. However given the timeframes I expect at least some will have dropped out.

Now for the shouting.

I WILL BE CONTACTING EVERYONE WHO EXPRESSED AN INTEREST STRICTLY IN THE ORDER IN WHICH I RECEIVED A FIRM COMMITMENT TO BUY.

Once we have the final details sorted with CarsNEffects, if you're on the initial list you will be contacted with payment details. You will be given a FIXED and FIRM deadline by which payment must be received. Anyone missing this deadline will lose their "option" on the diff and I will contact the next person on the list and give them an opportunity to take up an option to buy.

DO NOT CONTACT ME directly. I WILL NOT have any spare diffs for you. I made lots and lots of postings about these diffs and I extended the original deadlines many times for people to express a firm commitment to buy to me directly by email. After those deadlines passed, I had lots of sob stories from people saying things like "oh but I said I wanted one on the forum ages ago, so I better be on the list" and the like. Such people only went on the list when I got a firm commitment direct to me by email. This is the list I am working from.

OK, that's all folks.

Watch your emails over the coming days for more details. I will not monitor this forum so don't reply to this thinking I am acting on it - I won't be.

Phil

Sure would be nice to know if I am on that list... being that I've sent many emails. Still nobody has told me one way or the other.

Errrm...no. What makes you think you have the "correct" list, rather than me?

I put this deal together because I wanted a diff for my car. *I* had to commit to getting 25 firm orders before Quaife would make some more. I got some UK guys to place orders with Quaife directly, but I had to make up the shortfall from my own pocket. Originally I asked for orders to be made to me with payment, but too few people were prepared to commit up front. Plus, despite the fact that I spelt out the costs about 10 times, people still apparently proved unable to read and started making their own guesses about how much these things would cost, usually shy by about $400 in some wet dream fantasy. In the end I decided to buy just enough of the things OUT OF MY OWN POCKET in order to get the re-run, and then HOPE to sell them down the line to get back my money. You guys have been waiting since February for the diffs, guess what, I've been out of pocket to the tune of $20,000 since February. Who do you think is taking the risks here?

After I decided to buy all the diffs out of my own money, I told everyone that that was the deal, and that ALL they had to do was to email me directly specifically saying they were committing to buy a diff when they were available.

The list I prepared was from the emails I received, in the order I received them. I also gave firm deadlines. People still seemed to think that even though they had made forum postings but not emailed me, or who emailed me after the deadline passed, that somehow there would still be a diff for them. Their names went on the list, but there are other people in front of them.

I SPECIFICALLY EMAILED EVERYONE WHO EMAILED ME, TELLING THEM THEY WERE ON THE LIST. Dave, that includes you.

So, I have the list. It is a genuine list and I have administered it correctly. I am not going to publish the list publicly because I do not have the time to get involved in a bickering contest over who gets a diff and who does not.

The people who followed the rules of the commitment process went on the list strictly in the order I received their commitments. I will be offering the diffs I have to people on the list strictly on a first come first served basis.

Sorry, but I have only a limited number of these diffs and I am not making any money out of this, despite having done all the organisation and commited my money. I got a few dropouts along the way so I am sure that you will understand that I could not risk more dropouts during the manufacturing period and being left with 10 diffs that I had paid for but could not sell.

Heh, shows how much they know, eh?

I've now contacted all of those on the initial lists with instructions of what to do. There were a lot of hotmail addresses in there, so I hope you monitor your emails guys. Any diffs not ordered by the 20th September will be offered to the next people on the list.

I will be paying Philip through www.escrow.com. Their fee is 172.00 + 2.00 each for exchange rate. Which brings the diffs to 750.00 each. I don't want to raise the price of the differentials but I think 18.00 a piece for insurance that everything goes down the way it's supposed to is worth it. When I know more I'll post it here.
