30 lb injectors + cartech fmu = good set up??
Tuesday, March 15, 2005 8:06 AM
To run 6-8 lbs (about 180-200hp) Would I be good enough with 30lb injectors and the cartech fmu (2025) Or do I need something else to control baseline fuel pressure. There seems to be confusion in the posts I've read about using the cartech with stock fpr.

Basically would I be running enough fuel with just the 30lb injectors and cartech fmu??

Yeah, I think you are going to have to use an adjustable FPR.

I'm going to be running the same sized injectors, and here's my setup:

RC 310cc 30.5lb/hr
SAFC-2
Accel Adjustable FPR
Cartech Adjustable FMU

I'm getting the SAFC so I can fine tune my curve and so I don't have to bring my idle pressure down to like 35psi just to get it to idle smooth and not run pig rich when I'm not in boost (which won't be much by the size of the turbo I'm using ).

sorry, but which Cartech FMU do you have?

if you have the 2025, it has the capability of adjusting baseline/idle fuel pressure.

I see no need for anything more then a stock FPR, but I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

^ Like I said before, you can only raise the fuel pressure with the Cartech, not lower it, since the stock FPR is first in line. Its tough to explain, but if the stock FPR has the pressure in the rail at 55 psi, because the FMU is after the FPR, it can't decrease the pressure...
