7 codes on Turbo Eco!! lol
Monday, March 14, 2005 8:44 AM
Well ok guys, I just installed my Turbo and put the Thunderbird Turbo coupe injectors (low impedance injectors) on my Eco.
Well I just went to my boys shop and I was like let me see if I am throwing any extra codes or something, so I plug in the scanner and:
7out of 7.
1st- P0201 Injector Cicuit Open Cylinder 1
2nd-P0202 Injector Cicuit Open Cylinder 2
3rd-P0203 Injector Cicuit Open Cylinder 3
4th-P0204 Injector Cicuit Open Cylinder 4
5th-P0107 MAP Circut Low Input
6th-P0420 Catalyst Efficency Below Threshold.
7th-P0420 Catalyst Efficiancy Below Threshold Bank 1

Now I know the last 2 are garbage I had them before, but the 1st 5 just came up.
I wired the resistors in the injector wires and since on Eco MAP sensor works probably off the injecotr wires is is messing with it too.
I just need someone to somewhat confirm that this is the problem?
I mean it sounds right.
Thanks

BTW can that problem with MAP sensor pull timing??
Also I soldered the resistors in the Negative wires on the injectors, should it be maybe in the positive?? They are 10 ohm 1/2watt resistors.

Need to put the resistor on the positive side.

When putting resistors in a series circuit it does not matter if it is on the negative or the positive side.

^ word.

If the circuit is open then you would have infinite resistance. So I believe that you have to much resistance on those injector circuits.

Phil I am not excited about this @!#$ by any means.
Also, what I understood is that it doesn't matter what wire I put them in and I was told that the negative would be a better place for it.
So pretty much those resistors raised my impedance maybe, to 22-24 ohms.
What happened here so that those codes are thrown??
Anybody, rational explanation??
Thanks
BTW, I just talked to this local guy and he is a computer and electronics genius and was told that if I am interested in a Standalone and not interested in paying out of ass for it I should talk to him.
SO I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!!!!
This is my conversation with him so far, I am going to call him tomorrow, and talk this more in depth.

Reply from him.
Yasmin,
You should be able to use one of our systems. I would like to talk to about
it.
You can E-Mail your phone or call us at ...-...-....

So there might be hope for all of us just yet, Ecos LD9's and LN2's. This guy is looking to grow so he is willing to do anything, a lot of Hondas are running his systems localy.

Does this 'system' have a name

The injector circuit usually works by providing a constant 12v (well, switched 'on' when key is turned on) and the driver controls the 'Ground' wire. Thats what controls the 'duty cycle' of the injector. The resister on the 'positive' wire would reduce the voltage before the injector, while having the resister on the 'negitive' wire would produce the required voltage drop across the system, w/o reducing the voltage to the injector. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, since it is 5:30 am, and I did just work a 10.5 hour shift) On either system, the injectors would see a normal 12volts.

Its possible you set the codes from having the key 'on' while you had the injectors disconnected? I'd assume you wouldn't be able to start the car, if the codes were current. (hard to run w/ open injector circuits)

Well I just said that they haven't come back on in 2 days.
Pretty cool. I did have the key in on position as a matter of fact cause I was priming them to see if they leak.

Whoever asked about the name, I will post it later cause I am dog tired just now and I have to got to a class. Pulled a tranny off a Lexus ES300 yesterday and put a new one in, what a whore. Worked about 10 hours my damn self.
Had to drop the whole sub-frame.
So I haven't talked to this guy in person yet, but I will today.

Like I said it will control your fuel and spark and it will work with our cars, but I am going to talk to him to make something like HP Tuners are doing, cause I know this guy can do it.
I mean he has most of the tuning systems in his little finger already.
I will keep everyone updated.

doing the trans on a lift would have been like much easier. Sorry uh what kind of numbers are you putting down with 8psi? Just curious im about to turbo this biatch and i wanted a good idea of what im looking at. What cars are you raping?

I don't know what numbers I am putting down since I haven't taken it to the track yet or a dyno. But it gets out of its own way pretty fast.
Also, I just worked out the injectors problems that I had cause I am running low impedance injectors on Ecotecs high impedance system, and haven't really had time to run anyone yet.
This Saturday I am going bridge racing and I will let you guys know if I get a few under my belt.
I am looking to run a 2005 SRT-4 running 18 psi, shoud be a good run BTW.
And whatever else comes my way.lol
Good luck with the Turbo.
BTW, I cleared the codes like 4 days ago and knock on the wood they haven't come back yet.
