I'm in the market to turbo my car and not sure if I want to get a kit or not.

The thread maker posts his kit, it's a bunch of ebay items and he can't even show us a full kit or even pictures of it on an actual car.

Don't cry because I'm complaining about it. A good businessman would have dyno sheet, pictures of a complete kit and pictures of the kit on a car.

I'm not crying, I'm backing my product. Whether this is professional or not, I think that some of you guys need to grow up.

I'm not buying the products on ebay - that's poor service. I have specific companies that I have teamed an alliance with to purchase these items BRAND NEW. Also, I've mentioned serveral times, the kit is not yet complete and I will have new pictures, dyno sheets, and information posted within the next few weeks (as soon as all of the other parts come in for our first order).

Even if the turbo kit isn't the best, I don't think that gives you (Exploited) the right to diss a company that's slowly trying to start out and form something with the J-Body community. I find that UNprofessional and VERY immature. I'm not dissing your company, am I?

Anyways, this thread is to see what the interest would be in this kit - NOT to start arguements, flames, etc.

So, back on track:

Who would be interested in a kit relatively similar to this?

I wouldnt diss you if you werent trying to rip people off... i just showed people all the parts of your EXACT kit for less than 1/2 the price.

The kit isnt even close to complete either. They need to cut those pipes to make them work, they need to figure out how to mount the plastic blow off valve in metal pipes, they need to get a downpipe and flange for it. The list probably goes on.

When i made turbo kits i did everything from scratch to finish, welded the piping to fit right in, mounted the blow off valve, powdercoated it whatever color they wanted, made the downpipe, made my own manifold, made sure all the silicon fittings fit onto the turbo and throttle body tightly... ect.

And shipped it a year later, or never at all. There is a waiting list that still has peoples names on it. Also what room do you have to talk about ripping people off?

Every company starts somewhere. So how about laying off and letting this guy start his.

Why are you still on this site? You dont send people anything they want. Had you not had your bad reputation, I would have been purchasing a kit from you this summer; however, your lack of acceptance among J owners and your lack of ability to find a box and the UPS truck has lost your ability to call yourself a businessman.

Either shut up or get start working on your own ethics before criticizing others.

Brian why are you B*tching... you don't even send your parts out to people.. my buddy doesn't even have his down pipe for his car and he ordered it like 2 years ago. i don't think you have the right to say any thing about peoples business. Instead worry about getting people their products they have ordered from you... if i am not mistaken there is a good long list some where on his site of people missing parts from you. I use to think you were a decent person, but now your going off telling frankmckeever how to run his business and you cant even run yours.

that sounds like a pretty good price to have everything shipped to you, getting what you order is worth alot. And way less running around trying to find stuff.

More power to you man, finally someone who is liked and trusted!!!!

Buying all (or most) of the parts to a turbo kit, marking up the price, and reselling it in one box isnt gonna get you much business. People would have to be pretty stupid to fall for that. Well, I guess there are some pretty stupid people out there....

the list that brian made is pretty much the same parts that i have bought minus my johny racecar intercooler everything is finally installed and my cav is currently getting a downpipe installed (ill let you know how much it costs )with that manifold the fitment is great slipped right on the exhaust studs mounted up prefectly only thing was the welds were a little to close to the flange and i had to use smaller bolts than i liked to get them to fit i also had to cut away part of my core support because the t3 was sitting on it other than that everything was great also you have to remember about the dipstick trying to bend that thing was a headache i went to the left of the manifold because it was easiest hopefully ill get the intercooler pipes done this week ill have all kinds of pics but my car is in the muffler shop along with my digi cam my total spent so far
1653$usd

Re: Interest in Turbo Kit - $1895!!

That price is rediculously high. As much as I'd like to see more J-body parts vendors on the scene, those prices are going to help any. The worst part is that all of the parts are the cheapest you can get. There are a couple things that you need to change if you want to sell that high. First off, the Bosch blow-off valve is very cheap. Throw a Turbo XS BOV in the kit. All too many people boost their cars for the sound. Universal charge pipes wont cut it. How hard would it really be for you to pre-clock the turbos and make a few cuts on the pipes. Remember, people order FULL kits so they they can just install and go. Not everyone has more than the basic hand tools like us people building the custom kits. Put some specs up about the turbo! It is a Garrett turbo, that's cool..... T3 doesn't mean much though. I wouldn't throw just ANY turbo on my car. If that turbo in the picture is what comes with the kit, are you tanking TB03s off of Volvos and rebuilding them? That is DEFINATELY not a new turbo. The bracket and actuator of the wastegate should be bronze instead of having a sloppy wire-brush finish. The turbine side and center section are also rusted. Again, if you want to sell for that much money, you need to use new (pre-clocked) turbos, a good blow-off valve, precut charge pipes with the BOV flange welded, and at least include a downpipe flange to match with the turbo you incude. If not the flange, then include an actual downpipe that would meet the factory exhaust location. There is just way too much stuff that the kit does not include that the consumer would have to buy on top of the price of your kit, and I have no idea how you are expecting anybody to connect a Bosch BOV to a set of universal charge pipes. Other than that, you also need to include more information on the site. You should have turbo specs, charge pipe diameter, wastegate spring rating and what material the turbo and charge pipes are made of. I was able to find that charge pipe kit in 2.75" on ebay for $100 plus shipping (same picture), a good manifold is on ebay for $165 plus shipping, the oild feed and returns run $65 plus shipping on ebay, the turbo runs around $250 shipped, and the BOV catches $20 shipped at most. I am totalling up to $600 and shipping which could make it as high as $750 conservatively. Throw in and extra $50 because you include a gasket. I am seeing over one thousand dollars in profit per kit sold. Again, as much as I would love to see more respectible businesses pop up within the j-body comunity, I don't see this happening with the prices that high. The most I could see people paying would be around $1100, and that si only if they were trusted, quality parts.
I really hate to go this far in depth, but I really hate to see people pay too much for things. I shopped smart and planned everything out and ended up paying way less than the price of your kit to safely run 10 PSI on an H/O motor with boost retard, 4 extra injectors, a huge and fresh Garrett turbo, an intercooler and ALL brand name parts.

Yeah, for anyone else it's fine to say sh!T, but Brian, you don't even run a good business, so stfu and get out of the J-body.org. You have nothing to back up what you are talking about.

Like I mentioned, I am not purchasing the parts for this kit through ebay. Also, the picture on the website is more of a pre-production photo. You are correct, the turbo pictured is USED, but the peson purchasing the kit will receive a new turbo (we just haven't pieced everything together as of yet). In the future, I do plan on throwing in new items, such as an intercooler, HKS Super Sequential Blow off Valve, and maybe a few other goodies. I'd love to take the chance and cut the pipes so that everything is done for the consumer, but that's going to take some time.

Like I said, this is all pre-production stuff. It's not officially ready.
