Water cooled turbo help
Thursday, March 31, 2005 7:33 PM
I have a water and oil cooled turbo, was wondering how to hook up the water part. I tap into the huge radiator hose where? And where do I get those parts? Thanks for the help.

Don't even bother with it, just block it off, its more trouble than its worth.

I was thinking the same thing. Is there any parts I can specically use or can I just shove in a bolt?

You really don't even have to block it off, the passage doesn't go over any moving parts, its just a passage that goes around the bearings. You could just put some brass pipe plugs on there.

Personally I disagree. Think about the temperatures your turbo will reach. Stop running water through your block, heck it's oil cooled just like your turbo. Right? Yes, hooking up the water lines was a pain, but cooler turbo means less heat soak to intake charge, longer turbo life, lower oil temperatures.....

to save your bushings, it is a great idea to use water. I highly recommend hooking it up, just go to a local parts store, or shop, and get two t's (some people day plastic some say metal) and simply tap into your heater core line.
