209.23/206.38 HP/TQ at 9PSI. :( !!!

Well guys I just dynoed the car today so I thought I would post the dyno numbers and what not.
You can go the the registry and see what mods I have and whatnot.
The A/F was at 11.8:1 where I wanted it and it was done in 4th gear with the VSS sensor unplugged, so I thought it would give me a better 1:1 reading.

Did you guys know that a J-body Ecotec powered will do 118 mph at 6300 rpm in 4th??? lol Anyways what do you guys think??

This was done with non adjustable FMU.btw.
Here is a few different ones
207.56/201.22
208.85/201.32
209.23/206.38
I have about 4 more numbers because I acctually did 7 dyno runs but I have to get them off the disk and it was all done at full operationg temperature of the motor and 2 bar past 195F on the temperature gauge, because we all know that we don't always have the perfect conditions. All the runs were done in the weather range 93.95F to 94.23F, very humid should I add too.

I am also going to download the DynoJet Program and see what the HP/TQ would be at 50 F or something I heard that you can do that through their program. lol
Well what do you all think?? Weaksauce ah?? lol

Yea at 6 psi it was like 199hp to the wheel and 204 tq.
I guess the Eco lags about 20 hp or so, but the motor on the 2.4L alone put down 150 to the wheel.

I guess the numbers are ok, but I am not impressed, well I never expected anything higher anyways, never get your hopes up, but I am in hurry to build this bitch up so I can put down some god damn numbers.
BTW what did you put down Brandon?? how many PSI??

Yea my and QBE had a little talk about how that other guy had 247 TQ, but I guess he does, thanks guys, but I am not impressed neither.
But this little Cavi rolls.

For some reason, especially at that AF, those numbers seem low...

I don't know why... I mean I suppose you're putting like 120 to the wheels or so.... so you're getting 10 hp/psi so that's about right.

Either way, I'm sure it hauls ass!

#'s are not bad IMO. But how much boost was you running? Mine on 8psi with a built motor and don't know what my A/F was dyno'd 217hp@5250rpm and 241FT/lbs at 4750 rpm.

Not true on turbo cars. The peak will be the same, but the area under the curve will be greater because the engine tends not to outrun the turbo in higher gears. This is especially true when dynoing cars with larger turbos. Try the same turbo car in first, the engine revs to redline quicker, so the rpm at which full boost is realized is higher than a pull in 4th gear.

Acctually on one of the run in 4th gear I dynoed 211.32 HP and I am trying to figure out the TQ now, I will try to post the graphs later.
The problem is that on the Dyno Jet they had SMOOTHING set at highest so it will take some HP out from the graph since my line was really bad.
I have bad shocks and whatnot hence the bad line.
So if you set is with a smoothing down to 0 is shows 211.

Is anyone used to running a DynoJet or at least with the program because they have this correction factor abreviated DIN and STD <-- lol
I assume Standard temperature something what the guy was telling me of like 50F, so if I correct it on those 2 it goes up to 216.06.

Or if I was up North with a cooler temperature it would be 216.06HP to the wheel lol.

Well I just figured out that they are different Japanese and Koren measures and whatnot so I am suppose to be look at SAE (Standard Automotive)

Also, when I dynoed I saw the the elevation was put at 4500 ft and 17% humidity, will it make any difference, does anyone know??

Well I hope it works out for everybody and if not I know some of you can fix it. lol

I understand what you are saying but the reason i made my post was because he said he dynoed in 4th for "a better 1:1 reading" which just isn't true on our cars talking about gear ratios not turbo lag.

Suposedly atleast on the Dyno I went to, the guys tell me that the computer adjust to temperature, humidity, altitude, etc.
With dynos you can play with the numbers, put a fan in front and with the more wind pushing on that engine the higher the rating will be.

But I dunno, congratualtions on the swap and all the work done. But you are getting 209HP w/9psi but with the old engine you got 199HP with w/6psi. Went up 3psi to gain 10HP, am I missing something?

Anywho, I would not put to much empahasis on dynos as these machines only give an idea where you are at.

Good luck!!

Why?? Because the 2.4L was 10.5:1 compression for god sakes, couldn't run more then 6 psi on it anyways, so whynot.
I could have sprayed the crap out of it, but Turbos are so much better.
I like this motor a lot better than Quad tho, it is so easy going and it works with you, not like my Quad hated me.

Maybe higher compression pistons?

Or it could have been the compression fairy that raised his compression . . .

I would have said maybe its a small turbo but obviously not. numbers seem a bit low. T04E's arent exactly tiny Ive seen a few in the 7-8psi range at 210+ so who knows

Damn that is pretty high for forced induction, hence your 6psi max.
Did you get detonation with that CR?

Yea i built it for Nitrous, but even with 9 psi on the Quad for like 5 passes or something I never got the detonation or nothing.
I was running 114 octane too, but who counts that.
Oceanside I don't know where you got the T04E, cause that is NOT what I have.
Yea I know I can get it up to like 225-230 on 9 psi, I still have a few things to take care of.
Thanks guys BTW. for the props.
