Any 2.4 Kit would work with a little modification I would think.

How would I go about making my own turbo kit ?

I know I would need a turbine. But im not sure which one ? And I would need some1 to make me a new intake mainfold ??

that is all I know.

how much do you think I am looking at with building my own kit ?

thers alot more then that but if you buy used stuff it shouldn't be that bad... but cheap doesnt always mean its the best way to go, just make sure you know what your doing or your going to mess things up

I have the basic idea on what I need to pick up.
But for fuel injectors..
stuff like that. I dont have a clue on how to find them. Then you have the fuel rail, all of that crap..
Where did u end up finding most of your stuff ?

I went and talked to a shop last week and they wanted 5Gs to build me a custom turbo setup.

you will need a high flow fuel pump, injectors, FPR, FMU...but you need to know what your goals are on the setup ( what do you plan on running PSI?)

6 to 8 psi.
im just looking for around 200 to 225 hp.

oh is that too much to ask for with such a small setup ?

well you'll need to upgrade your whole fuel system... now my best advice is to talk to Mfk-223 or Shifted (KickAzz) those men know alot about where to get parts for cheap and best place to go..Mfk-223 knows alot about the Quad 4 and Shifted knows a ton about all turbo setups.

Ebay is gonna be your firend when making your own turbo kit...its just what to look out for and what not to buy..as far as Exploited..theres alof of bad stuff going around on him in the past 6months to a year..alot of peeps not getting there stuff and taking alot of time getting it etc; ...for your exhaust manifold..i dont know too many options for 2.4 (i DIY my ecotec motor) but you can go header style for your turbo which will be expensive and prob would take some time getting prepared making or setup....or you can go typicle log style and most likly buy a manifold off ebay for around $200.00.

If your planing on running 6-8 PSI on your turbo and want about 200-225 your gonna need some upgrades in fuel manegment..i didnt want to go that high and do not know alot about what would work best with that setup..but as far as turbop sizing..your best bet would to buy a T3 turbine a/r or .48 maybe a .63 (your produce boost later in the RPM's then a .48 would but produce more power ) if you can get your hands on one (or wanna pay the extra $$) and compressor housing size of 60 trim or a "super 60" Alot of people seem to be running those and loving them...so you have some dicisions on your hands ATM......

If your asking all these questions...and the type of questions your asking about turbo-ing your 2.4...I highly reconmend your staying below 200 hp mark and start out with low expectations..get to know how everything works and what you need to do..then move to higher goals.....

Exploited had the 2.3 manifold before having problem of shipping. I don't know if he still sell them.

I did my own setup and it cost me around 2000$ canadian. so around 1500-1800$US you'll have a nice setup.

I did spend too much money on some parts but it's part of the learning process.

I did the setup on a 2.3 but an Ho so I have more flow and it's built so it's pretty peppy.

There's a list of my setup with the price. All price are in canadian

Turbo - 800$ - brand new - T3/T04E
Manifold - 200$
Charge pipes and exhaust - 200$
Rubber/Silicone coupling - 15$
Clamps - 40$
Oil feed/return line - 20$
Haltech F5 - 400$ - for supplementary injectors
Ho injectors - 50$
Intercooler - 100$
gauges - 150$

That's about it for the turbo setup. It runs really good except I ahve to play with the F5 to control the fuel. No need for another fuel rail since it's just a pipe with 4 holes. You don't need to go with bigger injectors, you can had more injectors.

If you want to know all the things I have done, check my registry.

I found most of my stuff at the machine shop where I was working. The F5 was bought on Ebay, the gauges are from Summit Racing, Charge pipes and exhaust from NAPA, Intercooler from a friend, ...

What you ahve to understand is that it took me 2 years to build it correctly. I took my time and did my homework. The setup is perfect. I have boost at 1500 rpm.

A T3 super 60 is a bit small for the Ho. It may be good for the 95 but for the Ho it's a bit small. Don't forget you can have a big turbo with less PSI or a small turbo with more PSI but the same power.

If you have more question just ask.

I wanted to build a turbo header but since I have boost at 1500rpm I will keep my log manifold. I want around 300hp so I go easy on it to set it good then I'll bring up the boost.
