i didnt mean to say anything about hydro locking the engine, but your adding a solvent to the motor oil if it puddles inside the engine. Couldnt that break down the oil and make it break down faster?

??????????????????????????????????????

Since when does injecting anything into the intake of an engine mix with the oil?? Lubrication for your engine has nothing to do with the combustion chamber and fuel track.

I have noticed that when I use methanol, the oil becomes black very quick. I could change the oil, bog down the motor with methanol one or two times, check the oil, and the oil would be dark.

You will get a small amount of gasses blowing by the rings and into the crank case during normal conditions, thats the purpose of the PCV system. Maybe that is whats causing these types of issues with the oil. I'm not 100% sure but it makes sense to me.

I have used this Alcohol injection system on my dads car (87 Buick GNX) now for 2 or 3 years and the only thing it has done to the engine is steam clean the inside which made it nice when we riped parts of it off.. as for the oil being dirty i cant realy say i have seen the a change in the oil because it dosent even get enough km's on it really (only driven in the summer and only has like 28,600kms on it)

Adler,

When was the last time you did a compression check? Sounds like you're having piston ring problems.

I haven't checked compression yet. I'll just wait until it starts burning oil.
