i got a 2001 old alero 2.4l and i want to turbo it once i get the transmission issue out of the way. either there is not much out there for aleros, or i am just looking at all the wrong junk. i want to be able to get nice gains from the turbo running about 6 to 8 psi. is there anyone that might know where i can find a kit, or at least a place that might be able to help me get one made.
If you want a good alero forum check out www.aleromod.com. there's a lot of good guys there that know their stuff. secondly, you'll have no problem getting answers from people here. i'm also in the process of boosting my 99 alero 2.4 and have found tons of helpful info on this site about the engine, what works and what doesnt. a lot of the things you'll need have already been discussed many times and you can find a lot just by searching. any other questions you have that you can't find answers to you can always post and someone will always reply.
as for the turbo, your best bet is to make your own kit. a lot of guys do it that way and have great results and gains doing it. it'll be the chepest way if you know what you're looking for. there are a couple kits for the 2.4 j-bodys that would work fine with the alero also. its very important to learn as much as you can before you start your project so you're less likely to screw something up. start with the FAQ's at the top of the boost forum and go from there.

Mine is an Alero as well....I am going my own kit. as far as engine they are the same...drivetrain and i think the exhaust is different too.....IE downpipe etc.
