Problem when cold and boost hits
Friday, April 07, 2006 2:43 PM
When I start my car and dont really let it warm up if I get on it and make boost it will bog down like its running on 2 cylinders and continue for a couple of minutes. Then it goes away and runs fine. No codes are thrown. Any Ideas what this could be?

im thinking cause your car is in warm up mode to protect the motor so its dumping in a lot of fuel. then when it warms up it goes back to normal and runs fine

The worst thing you can do to a boosted car is to make boost when the engine is cold.

like everyone else said. let it get to operating temp before you put a load on the engine.

Sounds like you could be having the famos cold start issue while hitting boost. As everyone else has stated you really should not be dogging it while cold. You need oil temps to come up. I do realize that you might see a 1-psi of boost while driving first thing, that is not too big of a deal, but WOT on a cold motor is not the best thing to do.
