Problem installing lower intake manifold through bracket bolt
Saturday, October 22, 2011 11:00 PM
So I am trying to install the bolt that goes through the lower intake manifold bracket. I managed to get my hand thought the small space In between the manifold and altenator. How tight do I need to get this bolt? I have it hand right to where I can't reach it anymore and my dumbass forgot what size socket I need to use on the end of it.... Help :p

It's ok to leave it off? It's the same one that holds the pump for the h/eH

Ok it's a 15 mm socket according to the redline forums. I'm just going to try and get it a little tighter. The mani seems pretty stable with out it though.

We did not have this bracket when we did it, and we made our own bracket for the pump that bolted to the block.

If I remember right, I did that bracket before putting in the alternator

If you do not use it you manifold bolts will brake off. i loosened the AC and used a Air ratchet.

I never put mine on, never had bolts break....and I pulled my blower/mani assembly a bunch of times.

It's really not that hard to get once you have a feel for it by loosening the altenator, wedging your hand in there, and using a 15 mm socket.
