wideband - this is an O2 sensor that can read air fuel mixture ususlly from 9:1 to 20:1 opposed to a regular O2 sensor that can only read a range of 12:1 to 18:1, the wide band just has a wider range it can read

in conclusion you use the wideband O2 readings to tune you air/fuel mixture with the safc
