ok i was gonna get the shifter shaft out of a cavi in a junkyard..i got the knob off and the councle apart , how do you get the end of the shaft out ?
Just unbolt the whole assembly from the floor and deal with it later.
On the Getrag shifters, there's just a retainer to unclip and then the stick comes up and out but that retainer's a bit of a PITA to get loose. Much easier when the whole thing is out of the car.
