I think you have a bad or disconnected IAT sensor. Mine did EXACTLY the same thing when my IAT was disconnected. Is your ABS and/or check engine light on?

I guarentee you it will. I know for a fact it did on mine. I removed the clip, forgot to plug it back in, and it had exactly those symptoms. Plugged the IAT back in, cleared the code, and its all good now.

why would the air intake sensor that tells the computer what temp it is out side have any thing to do with turning left or right?

is the car an auto..if it is ck the fluid level. when you make turns the fluid moves and will cause trans to slip that is where i was going with that

If he's talking about his TC, then it is an auto.

And yes, it does seem wierd that an intake sensor can cause your car's transmission to get all freaked out, but it does. The PCM uses that sensor to calculate fuel maps and shift points, when it can't see that sensor, it will put the computer into limp mode, where it uses the absolute richest fuel maps, an insane amount of timing retard, and if you have an auto, it ups the transmission fluid pressure causing your transmission to shift really hard and the tc to engage.

TC = Torque Convertor, its bolted between your transmission and the engine. You'd have to remove the transmission to get at it. I'd hate to see you pull your transmission apart just because your $10 intake sensor is bad.

We were talking about a sensor, the IAT sensor, which is a sensor that is stuck in the S-Tube of your intake pipe. Has 2 wires coming out of it and is the only sensor in the tube.

I seriously doubt that your TC is the problem. Torque Converters don't tend to "go bad"; and if they do, they usually they totally blow out and don't function whatsoever.

Chances are the internals on your trans are completely shot, and its going to need a rebuild. From what you described, it sounds like your low on fluid (as somebody else mentioned, when you turn, the ATF all goes to one side and exposes the clutches/bands); but you say that the fluid is clean and leveled off, so that shouldn't be the problem.

If your trans is slipping that bad (revving high and not moving) its only a matter of time before it completely gives out on you. I'd say take it into a shop and have them take a look at it, they should be able to precisely diagnose the issue, and let you know what has to be done in order to fix it.

Good luck, hope everything works out.
