It shouldn't but as we all know some dealerships can be pricks about this kind of thing. Normally in the end we win, but the dealerships can cause you a lot of problems before actually doing the warranty work. Never hurts to ask what a dealerships thoughts are on modifications. Some of them are pretty cool about it and others just think it's wrong. Usually depends on what the service manager thinks about car modifications...

i'll call them up, now here is another question in your opinion does the short shifter make that much of a difference?

I guess it depends which one you are looking into. I've heard nothing but great things from the B&M shifter. Supposedly they work out to be about 30% less throw from each gear which is really noticeable. I think it will be money well spent and I'm actually ordering my own soon.

Massey Ferguson Law says if they are going to void the warranty....they have to physically prove that what you modified, caused a part failure.

For example...Ian was spraying nitrous in 03. Motor blew up. Found out motor blew because the oil pump quit....not because he was spraying nitrous...therefore, he got a new motor under warranty......sometimes you have to get dirty though. Short shifter shouldn't hurt a thing, just don't rip on the shifter, just shift it lol.

Hey Rice,

Check out www.customcartuner.com. They are a Canadian site that gets some of the same stuff that Karo does.
