Trans stuck in 2nd gear with AutoTrans
Thursday, March 03, 2005 7:19 AM
I just installed my auto trans interceptor last night and when I took it for a drive, my car would bog down at low speed, like ~10 mph, and not down shift to 1st. When I was cruising at 50-55, it would stay in 2nd gear and not shift to 3rd or 4th. My ETS and CEL lights both came on about a minute after I installed the interceptor. Today I unplugged it and the ETS light when out right away, and my CEL light when out about 50 minutes later. How can I fix this? Changing the line pressure from 0% to 100% didn't change anything.

Sorry if this sounds dumb but ....are you sure you have a 4t40e transmission in your car? The interceptor will not work on the 3spd auto.

Do I adjust it when the car is on or off?

Adjust it with the car off.
Also, you need to reset the computer by leaving the negative post off of the batter for about 30 minutes.
Your ecu will relearn the Autotrans by doing this.
Just for your info, I've had my autotrans for over 2 years with 75 percent line pressure and all the way up for the TCS control and no problems at all. I love it.
Good luck with the car and let us know if you are still having problems.
